A system where hardware only got more capable via the companies bottom line instead of by innovation to the market is easily manipulated. I do not condone a slightly socialist form of hardware advancement for gaming.

This is the utopian view, I can tell you this is not the way businesses work or the way they will see hardware purchases. If you support this because of a utopian view on on it you will becontributing to the de-evolution of gaming despite you're grandiose intentions.
