Louis CK’s South American tour is not off to a promising start.
“It wasn’t him, Tony!”
At the same time, it really underscores why Tony might need the check of a whole oversight accord: he could at any moment kill based on a decades-old personal wound.
Time travel is such a cheap narrative device to resolve the plot. At least the ass theory is creative
I loved the fight scene set to The Cure’s Disintegration. When Ant-Man & The Wasp referenced Morrissey I realized that these films starring my fake best friend Paul Rudd were Tailor-made for me. The third one will probably have New Order somehow to complete my favorite musical artists trifecta.
It is probably due to last minute rewrites. Originally, Hank was gonna be just as evil as he appeared, but the crew fell in love with his actor and didn't want him to play an evil bad guy, so scuttled those plans during the mid-series break.
Seriously can’t recommend Shazam! highly enough. It was a really great film.
As I understand it, Destiny was originally meant to be Zeta to Seed’s 0079, with Shin being Kamille, Athrun being Quattro, and Kira being Amuro. Like Amuro in Zeta, Kira would have a significant role for like 10 episodes and then leave. But poor fan reaction to the early chunk of episodes left the creative team…
“What happens when a scammer, hacker, and your favorite Jersey idiot meet in prison?”
There was a discussion of the greatest underdog wins ever in sports. I said that 2001 Patriots were up there as they were 14 point underdogs who won the superbowl. I got attacked by dozens of people who could only see them through the prism of now. It’s amazing how many couldn’t get that NOW doesn’t effect THEN.

At the time, they were.
My son was six when this came out and had seen some of the other movies at home, but got a little freaked out by some of the scarier scenes, so I didn’t take him to this one either. I saw it, drove home, told him and my wife to get dressed, and drove right back to the theater with them. I watched him instead of the…
There’s a difference between calling them the “scrappy underdogs” and acknowledging that this was all a very risky, expensive idea. To pretend that it wasn’t is revisionist history.
Tucci is my second favorite performance in this movie, after Tommy Lee Jones playing Officer Tommy Lee Jones.
I used to be so into the Toonami Gundam shows. I remember using my dial-up internet connection to find phone numbers for other hobby stores in Michigan so I could call them and ask if they carried Gundam model kits, which I would then struggle to assemble because the instructions were completely in Japanese.
Too many people forget the Statue of Liberty cannon.
This is still my favorite clip of Gundam (and possibly any anime) ever:
Football pads? Check. Surfboard? Check. Boxing gloves? Check. Dual revolvers? Check. A pilot so American his mother sang him “America the Beautiful” as a lullaby? Check.
