One important tidbit that gets left out of these conversations - there’s just a dwindling supply of students. This is 100% in the realm of market forces. There are just fewer 18 year olds than there were and the number is declining. That means all those colleges and universities are competing for a smaller pool of

Of course I have a solution! Get voters fucking engaged. Disengaged people don’t vote. No votes, no winning, no power to put policies in place. How is this eluding you?

I do have a proven solution. You just don’t like it because it’d work. No need to get pissy about being wrong.  You ain’t dictator for life.  I’m a register voter and tax payer.  I’ll come wherever whenever I want and there ain’t shit you can do about it no matter how much you whine.

Oh, my bad. You’re just trolling. Took me longer to pickup than normal. Sorry about that. You actually want the Democratic Party to loose.  I’ll let you troll along. Any further engagement is clearly pointless.

Who the fuck said anything about “facts” or “truth”?? When has that EVER had ANYTHING to do with politics???

The answer is the same as it always is. Find candidates that can win in swing districts and run them. And actually win.

You think talking to voters about, you know, ISSUES is “meaningless bullshit”?  I’m starting to understand why Democrats keep losing.

And what magic fairy dust is going to get us ‘numbers’?

You don’t really get Democracy, do you? Convincing voters your ideas are better is kinda the whole basis of this entire thing. Expecting voters to vote for Democrats because.... reasons, I guess? (shrug?)... hasn’t been working for shit, so why keep with it? The bully pulpit works exactly as it always has - stake a

Let’s not over sell what happened in the 2020 election - not that many people voted “for” Biden.  The overwhelming majority of Biden voters voted AGAINST Trump.  That’s a vastly different thing.

I didn’t say that though.

I mean they are actively working on Student Loans right now.

Biden is acting like what he’s actually been for most of the last 50 years - a Senator. He’s treating the Presidency like he’s in the Senate trying to wrangle votes. That’s certainly one important part of the Presidency, but there’s so much more to it than that, yet Biden refuses to engage in it. It’s frustrating.

I’m sure the Georgia and Arizona suburbs would’ve really come out en masse for Bernie Sanders.

Look, Biden has been in the national game to know that’s part of the President’s job. The President’s Number 1 job is to drive the national political dialogue in directions even if it never works out for you personally. Does anyone in their right mind think we’d have ACA today if Clinton hadn’t tried (and failed!) 12

There-in explains the EXACT reason we need better history education in schools. The bully pulpit isn’t about BULLYING. Theodore Roosevelt coined the term and by ‘bully’, me means ‘excellent’ or ‘superb’. The phrase means you have an excellent position to raise awareness of an issue.

More likely his approval rating is tanking because people fully understand the implications of the phrase “Bully Pulpit” despite it not appearing in any ‘official’ role of the President and see the President absolutely refusing to use it in any capacity.

Cancel Culture is the 21st century version of “Politically Correct”.  Either phrase is a good signal you should avoid the giant asshole saying it.

It’s like these dipshits never heard of “Fuck around and find out”. They fucked around. Then they found out. That’s how it works.

While I acknowledge there may be people in the world that would rather talk about The Slap than Janelle Monáe, I cannot for the life of me fathom why we’d want to talk about ANYTHING when we can talk about Janelle Monáe.
