Nah. That’s not it. Social conversation has ALWAYS been toxic, particularly around conservatism. That’s been true going back to the 1980's at least, and I’m sure likely before then. There’s a zero percent chance this WON’T happen. Few people pay attention to elections before about September. Sure, political nerds do all the time, but most voters just don’t think much about it until they have too.
