Absolutely agree. His films are rife with what kind of effects he could pull off. I imagine Doctor Strange would be an absolute delight for him.

Wait a minute!? “Man on the Moon” is just Alt-Rock’s “We Didn’t Start the Fire”?!?

I don’t believe in this show.

I’m always pissed in this day and age when I can’t find legal means of streaming something. Whether it’s a movie or music or whatnot.

Always “Disco 2000.”

I agree with you. Sandman is excellent. I’ve been meaning to reread it for awhile now but I just don’t have the time. From Hell is excellent too. A dense Masterpiece they goes off in wild directions.

I think Watchmen gets the nod as “best” because it tells such a self-contained story that is obviously a comic about comics where knowledge of comics is helpful but also not a requirement. Sandman comes close to this but the awkward beginnings of that book tried to connect it to DC of the time. ( and I suppose that

So there won’t be six seasons and a movie?

And yet here you are.

Good point about the over-the-top archness of some of the characters. The writer always bothered me way back when, but I chalked it up to Britishness and/or being from an older film.

Nah, I’m a big REM fan so I’ve known it was a cover for a long time now. I had to Google the original artist though.

REM Song but a cover of a 1969 song by a group called The Clique.

I agree with you. Many years ago I started enjoying bands that sounded like JAMC (Raveonettes especially) so I started to go to the source. I enjoyed their singles like “Head On,” “Just Like Honey,” and “Happy When it Rains” so I put a bunch of their albums on my iPod. But when the non-singles popped up they weren’t

Well this sounds no worse than my Karaoke version of this song.

Toys. We’ll show you this great trailer of Robin Williams riffing because the movie itself is garbage.

“Cool as Fuck” which is why the asshole teenagers, and Bart Simspson emulate the look. And yeah, the Walter White effect, or the every anti-hero story ever effect. Not for nothing, the tension and awfulness depicted on Breaking Bad gave me nightmares when I binged it. Great show, but I could never revisit it.

I think it’s the surface level interpretation that the Protagonist is the hero. I think in some ways the film did depict him as sympathetic, but ultimately Alex has done despicable deeds and feels no remorse for that. And as you say the film shows that futility of his “rehabilitation” i.e. the line reading/smirk/cut

I love M83 and definitely excited for the more cinematic sounding work. Inspired by 16-bit video game? I’m in.

“Clockwork Orange will always live on among teenage assholes (like teenage me) who find the whole spectacle unbearably cool. That’s not a great legacy.”

Talking about spoofs of Rambo and not mentioning UHF is a crime. A crime I tell you!
