I am in agreement with you. Nicholson’s Joker was more clown-like. That’s what I want from my Joker. Jokes, gags, clownness. Ledger’s just looked too scummy for my tastes.

Now that I remember seeing in theaters as a kid. It was marketed as a Tom Hanks comedy at the height of Tom Hanks comedies. (I really loved Tom Hanks, still do) I loved it and was shocked when it was considered a bomb for so long. I think it has been critically re-evaluated since then. I think I have it on DVD as well.

I’m in complete agreement with Mr. Barsanti. The Monitor is so good. Like, ridiculously good. A freaking masterpiece. Nothing since has even come close, and I barely listen to any of it. But The Monitor? I thnk I’ll queue it up now.

Sleepless is probably my favorite Rom-Com. Hanks and Ryan are at Peak form here, and as mentioned in the article there is a wonderful supporting cast. I’ve always liked how it was both a breezy, saccharine, romance movie, and a commentary about breezy, saccharine, romance movies. 

3 was actually better than I remember it being. More than likely I was just enjoying the lived-in charisma and chemistry of the stars.
