Hitting rocks to get gems to get rupees is not exactly an “amazing” time. I just beat the game yesterday, and it was one of the most satisfying boss battles I’ve ever had the pleasure of engaging with. Duplicating 300 diamonds did not take a damn thing away from my enjoyment.

All the armor seems to start at no more than 4 base armor per piece and after just one upgrade, it doesn’t feel like you’re really going to get that much better. But it goes up to like 20 per piece (maybe more) at the max level, so it’s a pretty substantial boost.
