TBH, it feels like another (very questionable) mechanic that is supposed to create difficulty/tension/immersion: you can’t pause in the middle of an encounter to take a breath or collect yourself, thus keeping the stakes high or whatever.

Yeah, as a PS5 owner and someone who’s never really wanted an Xbox, I find myself really jealous of Series X owners. Microsoft was so thoughtful: finding ways to streamline or simplify common problems/processes. I’m not saying they’re perfect, but I think it’s awesome that with the Series MS specifically tried to

I’m always paranoid. I’ve seen a few games which show ”last saved X minutes ago” on the pause menu, and it saves me so much anxiety lol

What is washing soda used for?

Kirk Hamilton detected a disturbance in the force when Ari said to turn a HUD element on 🤣

That’s partially why it’s so frustrating that MS leadership is acting like Kotick is a good guy:

And it’s okay to keep calling them out on it, even if nothing changes.

Lol, y’all are so pressed that Sony is being held to the standard that Microsoft set with Smart Delivery. Maybe the article was a little overblown, but seamless cross-save and automatically choosing the right version REALLY isn’t that much to ask in 2022—especially when cross-gen games are clearly going to be so

Honestly, I think it’s fair to keep bringing the topic up until Sony creates a consistent system for cross-gen/cross-device games.

I dunno, I don’t think this passes as “dead simple” in 2022. Smart Delivery is “dead simple”: you click a game, automatically get the appropriate version, and your saves work no matter where else you played said game (and those saves continue to work on other platforms if you go back and forth).

I might have agreed with you a year ago, but the core loop of Arceus is so magical that my faith in Game Freak has been renewed (for one or two more games, anyway).

Manuals for Wii U games were great, too. They always had really thorough hyperlinks, so you could tap a keyword in one section and jump directly to the relevant page.

I’ve stopped folding my shirts entirely. I take them out of the dryer immediately and put them on hangers. Makes it way less likely that anything stays in the laundry basket.

Chanbara looks exactly like swordfighting

EDIT: Ignore the below, I skipped the volleyball gameplay when I watched the direct, so I just saw the Miis now lol

Eh, if anything, I think this is really good timing. Nintendo didn’t need anything more to drive Switch demand—they were already selling out pretty often!

Lol I’m EXACTLY the same way! I’m intrigued by the gameplay, but I know I can’t deal with the absurd fanservice so I’ve never picked it up. I’m really pumped for this one!

I understand the argument for something like GTA where the single player experience is the core of the game, but with multiplayer focused games like Mario Kart I usually prefer long-term support

IMO, the most interesting part is that it’s included in the Online Expansion Pack—this strongly suggests that they’ll do this with other DLC moving forward!
