...and for fuck’s sake it’s not like he’s inappropriately kneeling at a military funeral or a Veteran’s Day event or something. Yeah maybe THAT would be disrespectful. But at a football game?

It says right there in the quote what it’s about, the oppression of black people and people of color. It’s not the shape or the arrangement of the colors or the physical properties of the flag. “Stars are bullshit, man!!!!”
I am a senior level advisor over an IT section that has hundreds of people. Yes, there are exceptions to every rule, but as a general rule the idea that a degree adds credibility is true.
Okay but let’s be fair here..... most people with the drive and intelligence to earn a PhD in anything has shown to be plenty capable of learning pretty much anything they feel like doing. I’ve known plenty of tech professionals who were highly proficient who didn’t have degrees, but for those of us who exists on a…
This is a cultural issue. When we start raising little girls to stop seeing occupations as inherently pro one gender or the other, it’ll balance out.
I’m not angry and I’ve been paying attention for decades. But I’ve also been a professional software developer that has worked with the type of people who promise the moon and deliver a bowl full of gravel (the bowl is usually nice, at least). I’m also the wet blanket that was pumping the brakes and trying to inject…
Luxury does not mean “comfort.”
My small child cannot comprehend why the TV is not a touch screen. As evidenced by all the smudges left trying to play with “Peek-a-boo.”
Oh look, an elderly rich white dude using his economic superiority to bend his employees to his will.
I love that I had this thought after reading the title and this is the first post I see.
This is ‘Murica, we measure in freedom units.
That’s amazing. I’m happy others thought of that before I did. If any Jalop authors are reading that sounds like it could be an amazing story, digging into how these companies kept their gas stations stocked while an entire state evacuated.
I was thinking about that with the south bound lanes and the trucks. I’m also wondering if it’s reasonable to just leave a tanker trailer full and parked at the big stations near he freeways so they could immediately replenish their supply. If the truck drivers and dispatchers get this right they’d be heroes.
:( I hope you managed to get what you needed to get as many hundreds of miles north as you can. Stay safe out there.
Looking at Google Maps..... people do realize that there are roads that lead north that aren’t four lane interstates, right? How are gas stations holding up? I can’t imagine they’re stocked to deal with this. I really hope this doesn’t turn into a catastrophe with thousands of stranded cars on the road with people…
You weren’t insisting that if you don’t cheat in any form of competition you end up with the same results as Honda in F1?
I always thought the TDI people were weird, and now I know why I’ve always sort of mentally dumped them in with the rotary crowd; two groups who take their engines way too seriously. Otherwise the Volkswagen crowd is pretty laid back. Not many other communities where you’ve got people on bags running wheels that look…
I think this depends on what kind of competition we’re talking about. Not all sporting events are like this. It just so happens that creative interpretation of the rules is kind of baked into the culture of motorsports and if this is Honda’s problem they need to get with the program.
This is one of my favorite looking cars of all time, and might be my favorite of the ‘80's (in base trim, with the black bars on the bumper and all, black Fuchs with polished lips mandatory). I think I actually prefer the series 5 FC RX-7 to the 951, but it’s close. For my eye the smooth, rounded nose doesn’t work as…
I don’t think lag or slow boost response is disappointing in an old car like this. I think it’s part of the experience.
