i think more often than not it’s happening with the expectation - whether consciously/intentionally or not - that women may/will become mothers. the pay gap doesn’t only exist for women who have children.

same. when i first heard about carrie’s heart attack i started silently praying, hoping that maybe if she could make it to 2017 whatever curse we have all been under would be lifted and she’d heal and live another 20 years or so. i kept thinking, come on carrie just a few more days. i was DEVASTATED when she died.

this is a very important story not being covered by the mainstream media, THANK YOU JEZEBEL. no but for real i was looking through the year in pictures earlier and was like wtf is the deal with that weird coffee table, obama? i’m glad i’m not the only one.

or an empty box. which actually kind of is a cat toy, so...

i love this! i don’t have my own children yet, my partner has a 14yo daughter and her gifts tend to be pretty reasonable (clothes, gift cards for makeup stores, stuff she wants and/or needs anyway), though she does have four parents, big family, and definitely gets more than she needs. we’re planning to have a baby

lindyyy! i miss you so! i temporarily gave up reading midweek madness after she left. (thank god for bobby, though, for real.)

huh, SO WEIRD! they didn’t even plan it that way at all, things just HAPPENED to line up! funny how life works.

this! my mom recently had a rant about this. her older sister is now a grandmother of three and insists on being called mimi. my mom was like, fuck off you’re a grandmother what is this mimi bullshit. not to her sister, to me. to be fair, we are italian so ‘nana’ and ‘papa’ are our sort of traditional/cultural names

yeah, i’m gonna have to agree. that whole look is 100% hipster.

now that is an explanation that makes sense to me.

that’s a really good way to put it. once again i watched a few episodes last night, got super pissed at him for being a dick and rory for being so foolish, but then as i was bitching about it to my bf i remembered how badly i allowed my first serious boyfriend to treat me, when i was about the same age as rory. so

ugh i am in the worst pop culture position! i just started the original series a couple of months ago, before they announced this revival, and because my life involves things (and my bf mayyybe doesn’t wanna spend all our tv time watching gilmore girls) i’m only on (mid to end) season 3. as of right now i truly cannot

‘money’ appears to be the number one reason a woman may accuse a man of sexual assault these days, followed by ‘fame’ in a very close 2nd place. and as we all know, those are two things that definitely always happen for women once they go public and the all the public shaming and questioning of her motives / behaviors

as is the case with SO MUCH about how shit works around here, it would seem...

yes! i thought that on a few of them. like, i don’t think we mean the same thing when we say that, donald. i tended to vote ‘not important’ when there was a lack of clarification (which was, y’know, frequently). also i used an old email that i don’t even remember the password for, but now i’m wondering if that was a

ha! i lol’d. you’re amazing.

and, in addition, laws like this help protect trans kids (or kids seeking abortions or birth control or whatever medical care their parents disagree with) who would face potential violence / physical abuse from their goddamn parents if the parents knew. like that’s the whole fucking point. no, lady, you don’t get to

it’s an aesthetic choice, what can i say

but if they don’t work in the administration they’ll be out of work! i heard rudy giuliani say so! we simply can’t let those nice trump children go unemployed, they might have to fire one of the nannies or something awful like that.

oh no, this isn’t ‘almost’ funny, it is downright HILARIOUS. unfortunately this, just like trump’s ACTUAL fraud and ACTUAL conflicts of interest, will continue to mean nothing in the eyes of his supporters, whereas clinton’s alleged fraud and conflicts of interest (which, despite years and countless dollars spent
