Yeah the homophobia is definitely a difference. My lady’s people are from NJ (Manasquan, Morris County etc), and I never got the anti-gay vibe from them even with some of them voting for Trump. My black family (dad’s side at least from southeast TX), definitely has a certain homophobic twinge that I’m noticing more…

Great point. If the white parent is comfortable with blackness and what it represents (in a positive way), the kids are much better off.

I actually had a broccoli and grilled chicken pizza when visiting my fiancee’s extended family in New Jersey (either Dover or Manasquan). Between the YMCA, country clubs, middle/high school sports teams etc., of the old days, it makes sense. They used to learn how to swim butt-ass naked...old wypipo.
