Shut down the thread.

So that’s why he’s called Winnie the Pooh.

The problem isn’t so much the illusion of choice, it was an issue of the writers being unable to keep personal bias out of the scenario branches. The choice between Paragon and Renegade is supposed to be similar to the DnD alignments, where you’re always a Good character but whether you’re Lawful or Chaotic is

Or, a choice to do good is meaningless if there’s no other option. “Your benevolence saved the galaxy!” doesn’t quite ring the same when you can’t choose to do differently.

Side note, for all those people complaining that modern RPG’s lack the meaningful choices of a classic Bioware game, this is really compelling evidence that what those people really wanted was the illusion of choice....

The one time I did a Renegade run it felt like one of the most brutal narrative experiences I’ve encountered in a game. I remember trying to keep track of the amount of times Shepard commits or helps commit genocide, patricide, and matricide. By ME3 I found that I could not choose any of the asshole responses when

On the latter point, I’d argue a bit of a different take. I’d claim there’s compelling evidence in games in general, not just Bioware games, that while people claim to want meaningful choices, what they really want are that the game pats you constantly on the back for a great hero you are.

Mass Effect 1 remains the only game I’ve ever successfully done that with, for pretty much the same reasons you’re describing: it just doesn’t ‘feel good’ to be an asshole, really. Like, in the real world, people make those ‘selfish’ decisions all the time, but that’s because there’s usually an actual, concrete

Yeah. Every time I try to play a “bad” person I usually end up stopping playing and switching to a different character. I just can’t do it. I have two different “bad” characters stuck about halfway through ME1 that I know I’ll never get through the rest of the game. First, I know being an ass will likely result in

R&C was OK but mostly forgettable. Ghost of Tsushima in 60 FPS is AWESOME. Other than that not much. I enjoyed Sackboy and recommend it if you can get it used for a good price. Returnal was awful.

You should check out Ratchet and Clank. It’s a lot of fun. Also, the upgrades to some of the games, (Control, Ark, Metro Exodus,) make them actually playable. The 60 FPS modes in others are fantastic. I did come from a launch PS4, so I never experienced the benefits of the PS4 Pro. But I do think there is a

Because scalping is apparently far less scummy than adding additional gates for bots to take advantage of stock shortages, according to kotaku. It's definitely one of those "let's shit in everyone's cheerios" kind of mornings here

Right, it’s annoying at most but due to the high demand limiting who can purchase these bundles is a good thing. Which I wish more stores could do instead of a free for all system that everyone uses. Best Buy found a work around for consoles and gpu in that they sell them for in store pick up only with no shipping

What's the problem here? They didn't have stock available for everyone, so they chose a method that rewarded their customers and probably also cut down on scalping. They probably got more consoles in the hands of gamers who actually wanted them than went to people who just want to flip them.

I don’t really get the issue here. Yes it makes it hard to break into the mainstream as an indie developer. But this is kinda just how marketing works. If you want people to see your game front and center, be prepared to pay for that.

Twenty-four years for trying to sell a kilo of heroin. So if she’d sold billions of dollars worth of pills and gotten over half the country hooked on her product, she’d get a fine and keep it moving. But she tried to sell a kilo of dope and she gets more time than your average rapist. Cool, cool.

It’s all good man, you get a free upgrade and only have to buy the DLC.

If you bought FFVII-R, you get Intergrade for free. The Yuffie Intermission DLC is $20 unless you buy the updated version of the game at full price, but you don’t have to re-buy the game to get Intergrade unless you got the game from PS+.

Sorry I was talking about Ratchet & Clank. But regardless I think you are misinformed about FF7 Intergrade. You don’t have to rebuy it. The upgrade on ps5 is free and you can buy the dlc separately. Now if you were upset that it isnt included in the ps4 version that's an anger train I can board with you.

You don’t have to rebuy it though? The Yuffie DLC is $20 and the PS5 upgrade portion is free if you bought FF7 (not free for PS+ copies).
