Sadly, I remember well that original cartoon...
an entertaining weekly recap of this show
In all honesty, I have never really cared for her novels, and I feel bad about that. Everyone is always speaking about how great they are. But they have never really done anything for me. I’m not disparaging her work or the people who enjoy it — I just feel odd not liking it given she is a legend of the field.
So... do they kick out all but a small handful of the cast, proceed on to Wishsong and give us a whole new story?
They might be better off continuing on to Scions so that they have 4 books’ worth of story to spread out across a few seasons with a unified cast.
In the show’s thin defense, she frequently wore more than what was pictured here when she was out doing warrior stuff. This was her outfit after bathing while relaxing at her aunt’s house. Of course a big-bad showed up...
More accurate to say that it’s a wannabe LotR, which makes sense considering the source material. The books evolved, of course, but you cannot deny the influence of Tolkien on the original Shannara trilogy.
She’s not a warrior. She’s a princess/gardener.
Not sure that was actually armour.
Well ... yay and sigh. I’m glad it’s coming back — it wasn’t terrible. But I wanted them to wrap up the Elfstones storyline and get on to Wishsong. Instead it looks like they’re going to get “creative” and go off the rails.
I haven’t watched it yet, as my more forgiving wife gave the pilot a slightly positive “meh.”
Its characters were thinly drawn, but it looked gorgeous and was often entertaining.
In other news Game of Thrones, the Rome wannabe, is entering its sixth season.
I’m actually happy about this.
I thought Marvel owned all the mythology they created, including the Dire Wraiths?
Funny, I thought I had read somewhere where Alec Guinness thought the dialogue and role were hoakey and wanted the death to not have to return. Of course, I am perfectly willing to accept that he might have remembered it differently after being annoyed.
Something I imagine Guinness was thrilled to learn, considering he only took the role for a paycheck and found the entire things pointless, stupid, and childish.
Interesting, I thought Guinness wasn’t a big fan of the idea of being in the first one to begin with so he wanted to be killed off, only later deciding that he wanted to be brought back (thus the Force ghost). But that might just be apocryphal or I might be mis-remembering.
Wait a week, go on a weeknight and you’ll have the theater to yourself. I saw BvS:DoJ last night (it’s not *that* bad) and I was one of 4 people in the theater.
In every way that matters, no, he didn’t. In the most incredibly technical of senses, yes.
I know. It wasn’t that I doubted his physical prowess, but that anyone who is sick can be that quick off the mark. Colds can wear you down, despite magical IV fluid relief.
