Hells yah! I love it when identity politics gets shoehorned into everything ever because who doesn’t enjoy getting distracted from great storytelling by super important things like who has the acceptable amount of melanin?

Because it doesn’t.

I swear to God I never knew this show had a diversity “problem”....

I was a naysayer pretty much from the get go when they announced Solo, but my tune changed as soon as I saw the previews. It looks like it will be fun, but it already has connections to well-known characters and a well-known ship. That should be enough. I know that throwing in a couple of random winks can also be fun…

I knew it. And I should’ve understood sooner why they didn’t announce it before. They wanted to sucker us in, using our own expectations of VC against us as an invisible bullet point on the back of the box. Once they’d sold a year’s worth of consoles they felt safer in admitting they wouldn’t do it.

Some of us still do that.

The reaction people (myself included) have had over this one goes to show you that this is a universe filled with characters that actually connect with people and you give a damn about.

Louis Herthum does malfunctioning robot better than I’ve ever seen as Peter Abernathy. Very glad he was bumped up to season regular.
