Ignorance, I assume.

Should have specificed Gamefaqs board. No comment on the reddits.

Every Souls board is a wretched hive of scum and villainy.

Well, at least the guy falling for Alt + F4 has an appropriate name.

Which is why I started with comparing the content at purchase (in the $60/$50 package) between the two titles, for their regular price point.

I personally agree, though I was trying to take a midground approach. Each of three characters in the classes play suprisingly differently. Learning different tricks and strategies is half the fun for me.

Well, at least $60 of that purely cosmetic (and the majority is WEAPON skins, so meh). If we factor that in, you could argue DOTA has an absurd price, or TF2. Let's not forget access to DOTA was initially charged and TF2 was a game you had to purchase initially.

I'd say a bit of both, though my memory on the subject may be a little hazy on the subject.

Yup. I'm still fucking bitter that the third one got cancelled.

I would kill people for a new Fear Effect.

The Evacuation mode is a five mission campaign that switches up modes and maps, with variables depending on who wins and loses. It's surprisingly fun even solo.

Well, when the game gets a price point you feel comfortable with, I hope you give the game a chance. There's quite a bit of fun in the package for $60. I've put a solid 25 hours in, and the matches still feel fresh, and balanced for the difference in style between the characters and monsters.

You're not misinformed. It's modes and maps that free, characters and monsters are being charged for (and gun and monster skins, meh). But they're still being worked on, and are much more complex to balance than L4D.

I think a lot of people forgot how pissed people were after L4D2 was announced.

Except they are releasing maps and modes for free. The same content availible after launch IS included in the price of the game.

I fundamentally disagree with the true price argument, because I don't believe I'm entitled to work done after the game's release for nothing at all. I'm comparing the content availible for $60 in the base package versus what was avalible in L4D for $50, in which there are more characters, weapons, and modes availible.

$10 is substantially cheaper?

Left 4 Dead launched for $50 dollars at the least, I've had no issues playing Solo or with just one friend (if anything, solo is somewhat more varied since you can play as the monster), and I would say Evolve is equally an original experience.

Been having a blast with this game for the last week. Finally convinced a friend to pick it up, and it's even more.

There must be a marker up there somewhere!
