I’ve had worse, but this happened on Tuesday. I was in stop-and-go traffic on the freeway (I-405 North in California, so that’s no surprise), when I hear the dreaded screech of tires and the loud pop from someone getting rear-ended. I looked in my rear-view and it turn out the car directly behind me was rear-ended by

I will drive 0 miles to “save” on gas. Granted my cars all have a 10-12 gallon tank, so the savings potential is low, but the math remains the same.

You made a great decision here. As for the engine running hot, fix the fuel mixture first. Running lean will definitely be a large factor in increasing engine temps. Once you get the correct amount of fuel going in, the temps should drop.

So what will you be swapping the drivetrain into after everything else falls apart?

1st Gear: “We took a short break from dealing with the largest scandal in the history of the automotive industry to shoot our own dick off.”

Awesome, thanks. I don’t listen to their podcasts, but it sounds like I should.

Glad to hear! It’s a ‘94 Miata R-package in Laguna Blue. Maybe significant to Miata nerds, but just another NA to everyone else. Regardless of driving my car into the show, I’ll be attending! The first one looked like an absolute blast.

My daily qualifies for this, but is not in perfect condition (clear coat issues due to the damn sun). Do they care about that sort of thing?

I actually really like Contra 3, but I also spent the better part of one of my high school summers getting fairly good at it. I never thought about it being short, but that’s precisely because the difficulty makes it seem daunting just to get through 6 (or was it 5?) levels. I never realized that before you wrote it

Neutral:

It was smart of them to test it alongside the BMW, the Supra looks a lot more attractive that way. Seriously, the Supra (IMO) doesn’t look good/compelling, but that BMW is downright hideous (granted I’ve been averse to their design language for a while now).

Nazism isn’t simply the free expression of ideas. It is speech with the express purpose to incite violence against other citizens of the country en masse. If it was about the peaceful expression of ideas, they wouldn’t have shown up with guns, mace, and body armor. This exact thing is illegal in many other countries

Hate speech/Nazism/fascism is not protected free speech in this country - its sole purpose is it incite violence against other citizens. It is not the simple expression of ideas, it is the expression of the intent of violence, fatal violence, and should in no way be tolerated here or anywhere else in the world.

5th gear: Don’t regular civilian versions of the Ford Explorer have the same problem? I recall seeing a story about a guy who had his back to the dealership multiple times to get it fixed for a CO leak, to no avail. For some reason, the story didn’t end with the words “lemon” or “buy-back”, which seems like a

Correction near the end: the A380 is an Airbus plane, not Boeing.

If Peugeot really wants to return to endurance racing, someone should remind them there’s several other classes to choose from. You don’t have to go straight to LMP1. I wouldn’t mind seeing a 308 in the GT class

Neutral: It depends on what aspect of the car suffers from poor quality. If it’s the drivetrain, rather, the poor-quality items keep from from being able to drive the car in the first place, then yeah it’s a problem. If it’s superficial stuff like panel gaps, NVH, etc. but the car drives well then I don’t really care.

Because with 15K off MSRP they’re still 65,000 dollars. The phrase ‘prohibitively expensive’ tends to only get used for things in the six-figure range, but 65K is still a goddamn chunk of change.

I assume you mean beyond the obvious catch of it being a 650i gran coupe.
