@thetayloreffect: I agree. It does fit well into my hipster-y skinny jeans' front pocket with no problem. It gets lost in my khakis/dress pants at work. How slim it is really helps. My old 8125 was like 3/4" thick and that made it worse in spite of being smaller in every other direction.

@InsanePenguin: Agreed. I have used both, and you'd have to be a complete idiot not be be able to use either of them after 1 minute of poking at it. It certainly isn't an issue for anyone reading lifehacker.

@ImmaLion: I think no matter what you're a fan of, these type of generalizing articles leave you feeling like your brand was shortchanged. It's hard to compare software (like the music players) when there are tons of alternative versions of these features via downloadable apps, which can be much better than what's

Well, let'ts see how many it really is before we get the torches out. Mine is still fine, but I'll be the first to return mine and post here if I see that kind of BS on my phone. Realistically, it is probably a few out of the 1-200,000 that they sold.

@Norbs: Meh, having an iPhone wouldn't kill me, but dealing with the smugness of the iDevout might. Not everyone is devout just because they use one, but you know exactly who I mean, and they are definitely at the Apple store. I have no patience for it.

Walmart was a pleasure to order a phone from online, but it was HORRIBLE to have to deal with the people they staff their mobile phone counters with in person. I mean, we went to 3 different Walmarts in one day looking for a deal on a phone, and it was one of the most frustrating experiences of my life. Seriously

@Norbs: Between that and the Apple store, I'd choose neither.

It's cute. IMO, the best parts of the phone are hidden by it (thinness and metal bad around the outside), but what can you do? That's cases for ya.

@Nathan Obbards: Your initials spell NO but by agreement with what you are saying spells YES.

@ossuary: He knows better. He just wanted his name on the internet. Anyone who gets compromised can now probably blame him rather than MS. There are ways to hack anything. Going public with the exploit when you know there has to be a delay in the implementation of the fix makes YOU the bad guy.

"but what do you feel about Google publicly admonishing Microsoft about their security flaws"

I welcome any new Android phone to the US market. There's no such thing as "too many phones." That's a ludicrous concept. Are there too many PC options out there? No. It's just hardware and software, people.

Review unit?? You're all insane. The range on this, being a laser and all, is probably horrifying.

I defended Apple on this one, so I will defend MS. If you want porn, go on the internet via the browser on the phone. It's their app store, and if they want it to be family-friendly, then so be it.

@BobotheTeddy: I was 9, but I did not think so at the time.
