It might be worth noting that Schoolhouse Electric Co., a small company in Portland, OR makes a replica of this clock. It's pretty spendy like the rest of their stuff, but it's hand-made in the USA.
Like other people commented, that's about how much Wacom charges to replace one of their fancy tablet input pens.
Nice, what kind of display is that? At desktop viewing distances 150dpi is more than enough for sure. I'm just wondering whether 300dpi would be necessary, especially since it would require so much adjustment, it would be beautiful though.

Apps and software aside, I can't imagine how long it would take the web to catch up if ~300ppi becomes the new standard for laptops and desktops. You'd have to zoom in on every website, the text would look great but the images would suffer. Websites would have to serve images at more than 3x the resolution compared to…

that documentary is a gem, such a great example of that era of American spirit and optimism we don't have as much of now. totally don't regret spending 31 minutes watching it... but i bet the government regrets spending millions building that place.
