I actually think it’s a germ/control thing. This rings true to me. I’m a white woman originally from a small majority-white town... and when I think of the people from my H.S. class who went into K-12 education, I find they’re mostly the people who were extra eager to return to our small town or to settle down in another like it after swimming in the big pool…
