My beef with this sketch is that I don't think SZ makes a good Rihanna. Endeavoring of her to try, but unfortunately, as the only black woman, she's going to have to be *all* the black women the show wants to portray, and some just might not work. This one didn't work for me.

I do feel the response to women complaining of the issue is way too generic and hasty. "Well, most women find the pill helps. Want to try that?... No? Okay then, well let's just stick to ibuprofen."

THIS. I so feel this. I have my first appointment with a new PCP next week, and I've already lined up all my defenses to shamey lines and my bullet points of things I want to talk about, in case she turns out to be a turd. It'll be my first real physical in 3 years, so I'm excited, but also scared/prepared to be

Man, I feel you there. The only thing doctors ever want me to do for my similarly-atrocious period pain is go on a birth control pill. Because I don't want to do that, and they won't do anything else, I (as a thirty year-oldish adult) still have one day a month where my life is hell. I will have to stage a similar

I am interested in these recommendations... I'm trying out a new PCP next week; hoping I chose wisely, but maybe not. Also, dentist recs?

I have my first appointment with a new PCP next week, and I am dreading it for exactly that reason. Always the lecture. Always the shame. It never helps.

Wellllllll I understand what you're saying to a point - I disagree with the folks who make extreme, "no kids anywhere, ever, that adults congregate" rules. But as a person who works quite a lot of hours, when I make it a point to go out to a nice dinner, I am just hoping for it to be maximally relaxing. Yes, there

Was also going to post that piece! Very on topic for Jez readers.

The third one looks kind of Count Olaf-y, no?

I bought it from Elisabeth Moss, too. They sat her waaaaay the hell in the back. I don't think anyone thought she was beating Jessica Lange or Helen Mirren.

Well... differences of opinion are bound to arise as to movies, right? Someday I will lay out my argument for why I liked American Hustle, but alas, I don't have much energy for it today.

Yikes. I totally disagree with your assessment of American Hustle. I found it one of the best acted, most entertaining films in recent years. Great ensemble cast and great direction.

I'm sure Photoshop is easy to spot for people who use it a lot, but really, my reaction to the idea of us all spending time poring over pictures of someone's butt and debating whether they touched it up:

Or caring about her at all? Please? It feels like a lot of hullabaloo over nothing.

I have an ungodly penchant for sour citrus, and I drink the stuff. But it's definitely not for the typical palate.

Fair enough. I definitely agree that unless something super traumatic was going on and it was absolutely beyond the owner's capability to do anything else but this, leaving the cat in a box in the lobby was an irresponsible, completely heartless move.

I don't think too many people are saying building management should've taken the cat HOME, so much as, it wouldn't have taken them too much trouble to call the ASPCA.

Right?! Major magazines have no idea how to shoot a man on his own to make him look interesting, so they default to the "throw in some trophy babes" tactic.

Do you think it was more about marketing him to an older, middle-American audience or the fact that they flanked him (unnecessarily, IMHO) with two supermodels as his escorts, and perhaps he felt this a disservice/insulting to his actual wife?

La la la la, I'm not reading any of your article because spoilers, but I'm here to tell you that Edith was ALWAYS the fun Crawley sister. (Or destined to be the fun one at least.)
