Kids of color do better scholastically in schools that are not majority white. There have been studies. I’m sure she’s aware of this. She seems to be trying to do right by those kids.

White friends of mine have adopted a baby of color. They are in contact with the birth parents. They chose a majority POC school because they researched and learned that kids OC do better in majority OC schools. They are always looking out for that baby, like hawks. They want to make sure that culture is part of that…

Hey, it could be worse. I live in the San Francisco bay area, and “playdate” has more than one meaning out here.

Holy crap, that’s terrible.

I live in a multiple unit building in a sketchy part of Oakland. I make sure to pull the door shut after me, going in or out. I do recognize several of the other residents and I’ll hold it for them... It’s a pretty secure building and I think we all appreciate that.

“That was a long time go” is total gaslighting, tho. They are doing it right now, and they’ve never stopped.

I do this as well. I don’t tend to eat a lot in one sitting, and my favorite food is leftovers! I often bring home half or more of a meal for later.

It’s probably management policy. Some places the policy is to wait and clear all the plates at once, and other instruct the servers to collect them as people finish. The server may not have a choice.
