Same, my only problem with Playtest is that I thought it should have ended one scene earlier.

I’ve never been happier to see someone get cocaine!

I’m so happy for Mindy St. Clair!

Not just Derek.

It can’t even maintain the general flow the way a movie trailer does. It’s even worse.

B is what undermines almost all government conspiracy theories, including fictional ones: they just happen to be run by people who are all-knowing, but suspiciously just to the extent that allows the narrative to continue to work.

“So, the government is not above murdering anyone, from top-level politicians to

Which is even more dumb when you think about it since A: There was still people driving cars and relying on heavy industry in the 1990s (not like much has changed) and B: If the Syndicate, CSM or Supersoldiers were looking to colonise Earth and had there people pulling the strings of governments and agencies all over

“We just happened to be outside the FBI nearby when Scully got into the accident and brought her in”. Or something. It was REAL WEIRD. I was expecting them to pick up the phone and call some mysterious voice on the other end. They are so badly written it seems like they are part of the conspiracy when I don’t think

It’s cut like a movie trailer, the music is way off base, Duchovny’s reading of already-terrible lines is abysmal. I’ve watched every episode as it aired since season two, so I’ll probably see it through, but wow, let this be the end.

I thought the reason it was called “Black Museum” was as a mirror to “White Christmas”- 3 storys with an interlinking narrative that I think were put together in an anthology because each story could not be padded out to a one hour run length but Charlie didn’t want to waste telling them.

at this point, i think bottle episodes are the only thing that can work any more. there were so many reversals & revelations that i don’t know how anyone can remember what the through-storyline is anymore - were there ever aliens? were they good or bad? did the government make them up? it’s like when your

“Scully’s great prophetic gulps are delivered in quick edits and shaky camerawork that conveys a sense of weight and danger even when the details don’t quite hold together.”

Counterpoint: that was a huge pile of shit. Having loved Scully for as long as I have, I found that “reveal” offensive and completely unnecessary.

Have to agree. Black Museum was actually my favorite episode of the season followed closely by USS Callister and Hang the DJ.

I actually liked this one a lot, it’s got a throwback-y, Night Gallery/Tales From the Dark Side vibe I enjoyed, and it’s a good use of the anthology format, especially once the ending ties it all together. Yes, anyone reasonably savvy could tell this was going to end badly for Rollo after the first five minutes, but

I agree 100%! The technologies in a given episode of _Black Mirror_ aren’t new ideas. But that’s okay: what I look for in _Black Mirror_ is what I look for in science fiction in general: good storytelling, good world-building, good actors, and fresh and interesting speculation about where some technology may take us.

Counterpoint: I loved this episode (Hell even the entire 4th season!!) Sorry but I didn’t go into this episode looking for some deep life altering out look on the aspects of technology. I came to be entertained and by god that’s what i got. OFWIW..I loved the cinema photography work in Crocodile Just absolutely

I enjoyed this one a bit better — structurally, it reminded me a bit of White Christmas with how the stories sort of came full circle, albeit a bit less successfully. I knew where we were ultimately going, but at the same time, there was tension from the sweating and the water and such that I was ready to see the

Any fans of The Ricky Gervais Show notice the similarities between this episode and two movies pitched by karl Pilkington?
