Actually, if you look at the poster, there is something that looks like a perk responsible for crafting melee weapons at Strength 4. So you’ll rather be locked out of building ranged weapons unless you start with Intelligence at 3 or more.

I managed to slightly tweak a quadcopter design I found in the Steam Workshop to be more controllable and less prone to exploding, but it still packs four bombs and that’s more than enough to wreck anyone’s shit (even if it flies, like the flying convoy and balloon scouts on the second island).

Well, the minigun scene is justified, one of the death animations in classic Fallout games looked very similar (particularly the bit with part of ribcage being exposed, it was common in firearm-related death animations).
