It runs on an old SoC (Rockchip RK3128) with four Cortex cores. It possibly runs the games directly off the cartridge. If I were in the market for a console I’d also consider the newest Atari offering which runs on a Ryzen 3 APU with a custom Linx and still runs the old games.
Apple probably figured that demand for new iPhones will eventually plateau and people will hang on to their phones for longer with a risk of some leaving for greener pastures when their iPhones die... why not keep them on the hook till they decide to upgrade?
