‘Minimal safety accommodations’ is a pretty broad assumption unless you’ve specifically reviewed the Targa’s organisation and found it lacking?

I always appreciate the flexibility of fold down ute trays, but unless it was just for work, I’d always want the body matched tray. Shallow, but there you go.
I’m assuming their point was that voltage is a measure of electrical potential rather than power (technically, 10,000V might not kill you if the current is very very low just as a low voltage with a sufficiently high current could still kill you), but yeah, we can probably not be dicks about corrections.
Now that’s a spectacular combination - no windows but feel free to light up back there kids and bask in that smokey hotbox. Really suck it in.
I mean, yes. But to be fair, it’s not like imaginary - sorry, highly speculative - companies haven’t had their branding on racing cars before.
The Cross Turismo has at least one fellow light-side Jedi car with it - I was, for some reason, watching D1NZ drifting from New Zealand a week ago, and there’s at least one car with a green light bar across the top of the year window, almost exactly like the lead image. The bit that weirded me out was it had a red…
I mean, unless Volkswagen released that detail immediately after the race, not sure how realistic it is to expect an article announcing the result to somehow provide that.
The quoted comments refer to “the platform”, and use phrasing like “is capable of” quite a bit. Not sure how broad their platform is, but whilst everything stated is likely possible now for a ‘platform’, I wouldn't expect to see any of them in a basic hatchback variant.
Looking at some of his efforts prior to F1, and even a few in F1 already, this is my genuine concern.
Geelong would be a good place to go looking for bored automotive engineers, being home to Ford’s recently closed plant and a good number of suppliers.
I think it’s largely pointless trying to rank individuals in racing, where it’s almost impossible to separate influence of vehicles, competition levels, allowance for safety etc.
I didn’t think we would get two articles in a week about old sites being converted to porn, but when the old site layout was specifically shown, I did start to get nervous.
Not sure what the minimum spec is at Targa, but I do know people who have prepped cars for it and it was considerable. I thought full cages were required, but haven't checked the rule book.
I have mixed my drivers up and an suitably shamed.
Most (all?) of them but a GT3- spec vehicle from their manufacturer of choice, so yes, is expect it’s going to rely on manufacturers getting on board. But given this is likely to be one of the closer series to road worthy cars, I’d expect a few takers looking to spruik their green credentials. Surely can’t be long…
Agree the fan boost is silly and should go. Pretty sure the Dutch fans ensure our goes to Van Doorn every race anyway.
I think the spec battery was only for the first few years to ensure everyone was competitive. I thought this was opening up soon (next year?)
I’m sure there will be meaningful investigations into what happened and any possibly mitigations that could be put in place to reduce likelihood in future. Everything I’ve ever heard about the organising team has been overwhelmingly positive, and their safety record was pretty exceptional. Maybe there was some…
In my experience, delightfully.
I’m... Not sure I have one, and now I feel vaguely upset.
