Well then. I was trying to figure out of they ever made a Fairmont LTD or if it was a typo in the article. Assuming that’s the car in question, then I’m guessing it was indeed a Fairmont (and perhaps not even the top speed Ghia, not much bling there) unless she had the fairly prominent LTD grill changed.
Prices have started to go a bit nuts for these, but it would have to be VERY NICELY redone to get close to that for a sedan, not abandoned forest fresh. And that’s in AUD, not USD.
Couldn’t find any details in they links on actually battery size or efficiency. So not clear if the vehicle has 500+km range on battery or if they’re calculating range assuming a full day of sunlight, particularly as they mention small battery size. Impressive for their purpose, but maybe not as practical for…
Had something similar (but thankfully less severe) happen many years back. Just agreeing out of the onramp onto the freeway, when a complete wheel and tyre from a semi comes rolling across the freeway at speed and slams into my door. Luckily it hit low down and not the glass near my head, and fairly centrally so it’s…
Unfortunately even ignoring the inevitable NIMBYism, constructing a nuclear power station is comparatively very expensive, and AFAIK all nuclear facilities currently under construction are either wildly over budget or actually on hold. And the great hope of small modular reactors seems further away now than 10 years…
The automakers are rapidly moving away from making economy ICE vehicles too, so I wouldn’t hold my breath. Not a lot of basic manual ICE hatchbacks for sale new anymore. Automakers followed highest margin when supply was limited, most are unlikely to shift back to low cost, low margin now.
Although modern vehicles and tyres have obviously improved, and reduced overall stopping distances, the same physics applies.
Best I can tell, it’s really just a super rich guy not used to being told no, insisting he can build a car from scratch, then insisting it just be sold in established markets to prove is good.
Yeah. I’d love to see nuclear as part of a balanced energy mix, and for a long time, small modular units seemed a viable way to bring the cost down to a competitive level... But it’s been a few decades and there’s arguably fewer companies and organisations doing serious development in this space.
The queue to buy a croissant at Lune starts early and stretches a hundred meteres most days, so it’s definitely popular.
Arguably not that bad in the broader history of motor vehicles, but by far the most surprisingly uncomfortable new vehicle from what I would consider the modern age, the MG ZT had just ridiculously hard and crashy suspension, particularly considering it’s Rover twin was way too soft. I get the idea they were doing for…
Depends on the specific car, but I found a two door surprisingly good for very young kids, when you have to put/help them in anyway. Actually probably easier in many ways for infants in carriers since accessing from more front-on makes clipping them in easier.
Fair, and I expect the same view my dad takes as an iX owner (and former 530d GT owner).
I suspect that’s the case for actual operation of the business, and increasingly impacting the external aspects that relate to customers and goodwill.
Congratulations?
You’re right, and I think the difference is Lamborghini drivers probably know they’re being a bit ridiculous and don’t take themselves so seriously.
The iX is a very nice car to drive, and quite engaging visually from the side and rear profile.
“No no, this was my exact plan all along - right now and under these precise circumstances”
Haha. There may have been an implicit “... for a professional cyclist” applied.
