Probably simpler to just assume any Aussie or Kiwi at Drag Week is running a Barra. It’s almost a point of national pride at this stage.

But just for sheer randomness, there was this, Street-parked in London back when this would have been brand new. Standard ‘Kompressor’ badge changed to ‘Oppressor’, of course.

Barely traveling since I walked past it just parked in front of the tyre shop over the road from my house. I think it’s a bit rude to ogle people cars when their not there, but hrrnnnng...

Yeah, I don’t mind the rear and side, but that beak...

Aha, too perfect! In my Antediluvian location at least, the cheapest M appears to be the convertible E46. So everyone can admire your matching scalp-badge. BMW people love M badges, right? You’ll fit right in. Which in hindsight is maybe not your modus operandi.

An ‘M’, you say? Clearly the hair gods are trying you to switch allegiances. Perhaps a classic M635CSi? Wait, neither of us can afford that. What’s the cheapest genuine M-car these days? E36 M3? Or are M5s now cheaper?

This is what surprised me. I guess it shouldn’t, patent office being it seems to be these days, but come on, auto window lowering (and closing) from the keyfob has been pretty standard on ‘premium cars for 15+ years, and I assume pretty widely on others. Are we patenting just the number of windows now?

Do they publish the method of testing for each vehicle? ie. Do we know Porsche was tested with the 2 cycle and derate method and Tesla and others on the full 5 cycle?

Agree that the D-type > E-type. And the coupe was definitely a little awkward in terms of proportions (best not to even mention the 2+2). But the convertible was gorgeous and any other view is the wrong one. And if you go with the phallic interpretation, probably the only time someone made one of those attractive.

Controversial take: Not ugly. Certainly different, but by that metric a VW Bus is ugly. Why the hell not, it’s better looking than the CyberEgg /ModelX.

I was actually shocked for a moment thinking Henry Fisker had finally remembered how to design an attractive car again, then I remembered he was long gone.

I’m not familiar with industrial rather than house wiring, but aluminium is fine as long as you use the right connectors/lugs.

Confusingly phrased, but I assumed they meant the body panels and other components made with the nano cellulose were half the weight versus traditional components, but as they only form a part of the overall weight (and engines are heavy), it only equates to 10% reduction overall.

Early on in my career was asked to work at a customer site for a while (6+ months) that was 130km (80mi?) away, onsite by 6:30am each day. Starting driving there and back each day for a few weeks (directly into glaring sun each way), but after almost slamming into the back of a logging truck convinced my boss (and

I’ve had a 2005 E46 320i wagon for some years now, and long term, the obvious swap is an S54 from an equivalent M3. But it’s getting harder to find good S54 engines locally (Aus), and the M54 seems like a lot of effort for the result.

Can somebody loan me a few extra stars? These images are spectacular.

Progressive?

Shouldn’t it be paired be a nice MG? This statement obviously precludes the use of any recent MGs. Or to be brutally fair, most old MGs.

Had two kids go through removable capsule stage in a coupe (E92) without too much drama, beyond a slightly scuffed B-pillar cover. It was actually easier in a lot of ways compared to putting the same capsule into our wagon.

My wife gets inexplicably annoyed everytime I use this, but it’s just much more convenient unless you’re loading something large. And significantly lower risk of smashing hatch into your head (yes, I'm clumsy).
