This Forever War disappoints everybody, it seems. Even my liberal American friends who were complaining of its imminent end are now disappointed that it will continue.

My liberal American friends are in anguish. A slower withdrawal from Syria is exactly what they agitated for, but they didn’t believe Trump would actually give it to them!

My liberal American friends assure me President Beto will discontinue this fascist program forthwith. He will be a great friend to whistleblowers. That’s what I’m hearing.

My liberal American friends tell me pay-go is indispensable to assuring that Medicare For All — which they wholeheartedly support — is done in a fiscally sustainable manner. That’s what they’re saying.

Could Trump be right in a sense? My liberal American friends tell me America’s southern border can be secured without a wall. So perhaps Trump is justified in declaring victory.

Can Romney run for President as a Democrat in 2020? He’s echoing all the favorite talking points of my liberal American friends — all that stuff about upholding norms and dignity of the office and what not.

Tomato is arguing with himself like a crazy person today. It is good that we have the steadying presence of calm reasonable commenters as a counterweight to Tomato’s lunacy.

My liberal American friends tell me they would love to support Senator Warren’s candidacy but that DNA test fiasco has rendered her unelectable. It has negated all the goodwill she built up when she nobly declined to run against Hillary in 2016 to preserve party unity. Now she’s just a fractious spoiler threatening…

My liberal American friends tell me this committee will only stir up trouble for Democrats ahead of the 2020 elections and it’s better to wait until President Beto O’Rourke can address the issue properly in 2021. That’s what they’re saying.

But how can you hold American farmers in such contempt when they produce the food that feeds you and your family?

I am perplexed, American friend. You say “I personally like and empathize with both of these men,” and then in the next breath you strongly imply that America will be better off after they die. I believe you may empathize with these men, but I do not believe you like them.
