@Peppermint: See, I work on the reverse of that - the cocktail is gone in 15 minutes and I've already ordered another, whereas that bottle of nail polish will be used off and on for the next couple of years.

@ramotional: I'm in the same boat - my eyes got irritated during a severe allergic reaction, and the contacts have only touched them again when I dye my hair (I have a couple of pair leftover).

@nansense: I agree. I enjoy GOOP. Some of it's out of touch, but she's trying to share things that are important to her, and can call on a roster of really interesting people to do so.

@Mary Ratliff: When I was 7, I had my first encounter with jellyfish (I wasn't stung, fortunately, but they Freaked. Me. Out). Then, the next week when we were at home, I helped with the dishes.

@starless wonder: I stared at that picture for an entire minute, trying to find similarities between this guy and the one I remember from the 80s.

Ok. Seriously, this is a weird one. When I read Jenna Jameson's book, even though I knew they had broken up and she'd had twins with Tito Ortiz, I was still really moved by the hope and optimism she had about her second husband at the end.

@msblackandwhite: I think it's pretty awesome, as well. I'm from Virginia and living in NL, and it's the only way I can manage to keep in touch with everyone without writing long, guilty emails every 6 months or so.

@oriencor: But writing something I can completely agree with. Who knows what M. Lohan is like behind closed doors? At least Mel wasn't famewhoring his kids on the side, too.

@AllieCaulfield: He was very, very pretty. And he was hiding the crazy better then.

@anaisnun: I'm not totally defending, but I read that he and the ex had decided to stay married until the kids were over 18, with all of them living in the house next door. Kids turned 18, divorce started, and the house went up for sale.

@MrsNorthman: I know people who are into them for the skill involved, not for the killing people or animals possibilities. Maybe that's it?

@frecklerock: I think the whining makes everyone satisfied. I will admit there's some REALLY crap service here (I'm looking at you Orange, and my 3rd day with no internet or phone at home!), but there is a tendency to complain a lot at random.

@stacyinbean: They're still sold new here - the black bikes with no gears and coaster brakes. They're called oma-fiets (grandma bike).

@Parenthetical: I heartily second the recommendation for Jennifer Crusie - her heroines are awesome and her heroes are likeable and her writing is really great and funny and perfect escapist/entertaining.

duplicate posts. That's how silent it was...

@take it as red: You know what the sound of Spain scoring last night was, in the center of Eindhoven? Dead silence.

I had this. I didn't remember having this until I saw the commercial the other day, and plan to ask my mother what she was thinking.

@Tee got her Doctor Who fix!: One of my best friends is Spanish and her husband is Dutch (living in NL)...one is working on getting their 2 year old to say "Hup Holland Hup" and the other is really working on her "Viva Espana!"

@PennyArcadia: Me, too. And I'm willing to brave the heat, at least for a little while, to watch it on the big screens in the center of town.

@Morbidda Destiny: I'm seconding this one. No matter what else is on the page, if I see a Today in Catalogs, it's the first thing I go to.
