@Gretchen: In The Netherlands, we had to choose between a marriage and a civil union for the legal ceremony (we could do whatever we wanted afterward). There's not much difference legally, but they're still two separate entities.

@seresy: That was actually supposed to be at Kivrin...

@Ms Meghan: My husband and I saw it yesterday- I made the "concession" to go to it because it was "something you'd enjoy, honey."

@teresaelectro: Is it still a sandwich if it's Craig, Statham, AND McGregor?

@Zlevee: I do too. I may have embarassing 80s hair in all of my pictures (and don't get us started on the acid-washed stretch jeans and fringey leather jackets) but it seems like we had so much more fun than the people who were more than 3 years behind me.

@SheCracked: That fact just adds to the sexiness. Dayum.

@morninggloria: I have the Nations of the World video on my ipod. And I'm 35.

I've mentioned this here before, but I'm not going to be able to vote in Virginia as an absentee. I'm a registered Dem, and though the consulate says that I need to vote in the state I was last registered in, Virginia (Norfolk) has stated repeatedly that they can't give me a ballot because I don't have a Virginia

I always loved his lists- they were snarky, but they never felt overtly mean. It's a line too many people cross anymore.

@CamilleRouge: I'm STILL working to try to get my registration settled. I'm trying! This time my Dem vote may actually make a difference in VA!

My best friend just got married a few weeks ago, and she was so stressed by all of the work and expectation and building up that the wedding and reception entailed that she was miserable and evil through the whole rehearsal/dinner/afterparty and didn't loosen up until about halfway through the reception.

I'm in the Netherlands and have been arguing with my home registration (Norfolk, VA) about my absentee ballot- according to the consulate, I register absentee with the last place I was registered. According to VA, if I don't have a Virginia address, I have to move my vote to wherever I have a permanent address. Which

@haguenite: I've found my American cereal sources, but at 9,50 a box, they're a very rare treat (and the closest place I know of is in Utrecht, so add train fare...)

I love the brocade coat, but even the non- cranky old lady parts of me are screaming for most of the others to look into pants.

Ok. I live in Eindhoven and my friend and neighbor just finished her prostitute career, and I can say now that this is ridiculous. They're working this job because it's relatively safe, easy money, and a lot of them do this while working towards other things (being a prostitute isn't exactly a life-long career... my

I love her hair, but my feet are crying in sympathetic agony.

I can wish I resembled my husband's mother- she's tiny. Seriously- she's the smallest person I have ever met.

@pastrychick: In the last couple of weeks, almost every picture of her includes a t-shirt I bought at a concert in the 80s.

I also married a Dutchman. I can attest to their adorableness.
