Season 2 had, what, maybe a couple episodes that weren’t firing on all cylinders? And when this season’s done, I imagine we’ll be saying the same thing. Also, I can’t thank the writer’s room enough for culling the herd of obnoxious fans a bit (you know, the type who track down who wrote what episode so they can shit

It’s gonna take some time to get used to looking at the right side of my screen when I’m at the Kinja AVClub.

WHO THE FK CAN DISLIKE THIS I CAN THINK Of 3 I am not sure if I spell them correctly

TBH I don’t think it’s a portal to K’un L’un at the bottom of the hole, it’s just a mausoleum for a local dragon. Powdered dragonbone is the substance behind the Hand’s resurrections (they show it getting mixed into the blood used to revive Elektra a few episodes back). That’s why dudes come in with saws next episode.

Yes, it’s clearly intentional that Danny is both naive and not in control of his Iron Fist power, though I’m really not sure why on the latter point. (There’s a moment in the Iron Fist series where we see a clip of a previous IF doing stuff Danny didn’t even think was possible, and it’s like WHY I WOULD RATHER WATCH

This Episode is what cemented Jessica as the best thing on this show and in this Universe. Her stealing that beer was perfect and Krysten plays it perfectly.

I think it’s the Blackened Bone Marrow of Shao Lao the Undying

That’s the Episode 5 review, though. I did find 6 eventually, but they’re all out of order on the Defenders Season 1 page.

I’m making this my bitching thread. Straight from google:

I thought the door was just a door keeping the bad guys away from the magical goo pool that New York was floating on. Also, why is New York floating on a magic goo pool? Also, why is the magic goo in the magic goo pool referred to as “the substance”? And also was it the bones or the goo?

This site revamp is the Iron Fist of site revamps.

Agree. Foggy giving matt his suit was less I accept you and more if you’re going to do heroin with your girlfriend at least use clean needles and condoms.

Watching The Defenders, I’m glad that I skipped Iron Fist, the show. I thought that Danny’s mostly a fine character, especially when he’s the upbeat one of the ground, even if I found it a little weird how quickly his PTSD from failing K’un-L’un seems to have faded.

“unlike Karen, who still doesn’t understand that the costumed hero isn’t any less Matt Murdock than the lawyer”
