And if peeing yourself when you sneeze is a dealbreaker for you, that’s also totally fair! I’m not in this to convince anybody to have kids who doesn’t want them.

Samesies, really.

But on the other hand, if you didn’t know, you would HAVE to get through it, and you wouldn’t be able to torture yourself by going online and having thousands of worst-case scenarios at your fingertips. Don’t get me wrong — you know best what you can handle, and if pregnancy and birth are on the “no” list, so it goes.

So, half of the internet is going to treat this as an exoneration and the other half is going to take far too much glee in pointing out that’s not what the DA statement says. Kinda like the Barr letter, but with everyone’s positions reversed. Fun.

What an odd, if interesting, question.

Yep. And then he rides “no collusion” to re-election because, see above about “shitshow hellscape.”

I’m hearing conflicting things on the no-indictments since I wrote this comment — it seems like most people are assuming it means show’s over, but others who actually seem to know what they’re talking about are putting out opinions more like yours. I’m hoping you’re right, and interested to see what happens.

Speculation time!

Huh. Maybe it’s just that I’m older — I remember the fights over getting it approved, let alone over-the-counter. So I still think of it as a last resort. But I guess if it’s always been an option for younger women, and it’s easier and faster than getting a prescription, it might not have that connotation to them

Yeah, and this just isn’t the particular way I’m fucked up. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve taken chances in a thousand other stupid ways, but I’ve always been really careful with birth control. But I’m learning from this thread that I’m maaaaaaybe a little more uptight about that than your average woman, so I guess that’s

Yeah, I think what I’m learning from this thread (not just your comment, but everybody’s) is that I’m more than normally paranoid about pregnancy. As in, I never knowingly had chancy sex, not even once, and managed to give myself panic attacks just about every time my period was five minutes late until my husband got

Yeah, I guess I was just disappointed because I heard in advance that there was going to be an abortion story that was meant to be realistic and low-key. And for me, the way Annie got pregnant took away from that because it requires her to be dysfunctional on a pretty massive level. I would rather they went with a

Fair points. I’m not sure about the pharmacist — I agree he SHOULD have known to ask Annie, but, realistically, asking women about their weights is not likely to end well for him. Still, I can view the whole thing as a symptom of her general failure to value herself or be valued by the people around her.

See, that actually is a really good way to look at it. I would say birth control is a commitment to yourself and your future more than a commitment to any specific dude -- but I also understand that a 20something who’s still leaving her hookup’s house through the back door so he won’t reject her may not quite be at

Yeah, I would have viewed it more sympathetically if the show had explained that she was using Plan B because she’d had bad experiences with doctors. The way it was presented seemed like she just hadn’t bothered exploring non-drugstore alternatives. I hope it’s something they address down the line.

I agree with Lindy about the politics here, but I also kind of wanted to shake Annie for using the morning after pill as birth control. A, that’s not what it’s for and I’m not sure using it that way is really good for you, and b, she’s an assistant calendar editor. She probably makes $35k a year. She should not be

Then we more or less agree —I don’t think YouTube should allow videos starring kids to be monetized without oversight, either.

Right, but abusive parents are abusive parents, and they existed long before YouTube. I don’t think that she was a perfectly good parent and then they started making videos and oops, all of a sudden she’s locking kids in closets and spraying them with pepper spray. YouTube gave her another excuse to be abusive, but it

Yeah, out of curiosity I looked up what she would have had to do in Arizona and it’s basically nothing — you have to fill out a form that says what you’re filming and what the hours will be. I thought there would at least be something about a third-party monitor, but turns out that’s not the case.

Maybe up to a certain age limit? If a 16-year-old is really great at makeup tutorials or Let’s Play videos or whatever, I don’t want to say they absolutely can’t make money off of it.
