It has some issues, but its far from a ‘breaking point’ that Tobiwan is suggesting. There’s some important parts of the scene that have been edged out by recent changes, and it would be cool if Valve was mindful of some of the folks who built the scene, but it isn’t exactly ‘ded gaem’ levels

I remember Dota tourneys and even particukar pros as far back as 2006, just saying. I even made $80 playing in a 2008 Tournament :P

Nah, I’m pretty sure you’re just jerking yourself off over an arbitrary amount of realism, that maybe only seems less arbitrary because you live in the US.

Why does it look like they’re playing Final Fantasy 7

Places like the Bundys’, and other, actual more hostile and fortified places, exist all the time without being in a perpetual stand-off. There’s places where guys have outstanding warrants for theft or all sorts of thing that the police just don’t bother with because property crimes aren’t really worth starting a

Shockingly, the people who feel the need create their own relationship media are straight women and gays of all flavors.

It’s cool that there’s those reddit groups or discords or w/e that you’re talking about. Really nice, glad for those women.

I mean, it’s no secret that this is entirely a social problem, there’s no ladybrain that is drawing territory lines around a D&D group or somethhing. It comes from socializing and grooming, and a lot of the ways girls are built up, torn down, supported, demeaned, the methods they learn to use to garner affection or

You say ‘women are freaking weird’ like this isn’t a dynamic that’s basically groomed into women by largely the guys in their lives.

We always called it Queen of the Nerds syndrome, but I kinda like Smurfette more. And as a woman who played a lot of DotA and KoF and others, yeah, it is real, and it is an awful trap that women find themselves in.

This whole thread is a terrific self-own, you’ve done a very good job of inserting your foot into your mouth, nice.

Please no. This is the opposite of a good idea. This guy is a basketcase, stuff he reports doesn’t even make sense and is real bunk.

Because a lot of people have very very negative feelings towards their law enforcement institutions, rightly so, and don’t like seeing that uniform on a character they are otherwise fond of. I’m not saying they’re right (I don’t especially care), but I absolutely understand where they’re coming from. For a lot of

I mean, kinda, but some of dota’s complexity extends directly from WC3, stuff like armor and damage types (veno wards and beastmaster boars being piercing damage for a long time, for example). A lot of legacy stuff was holdovers from WC3 limitations.

Also wanted to make sure Junko Kaname was here because what I think a lot people miss is that Madoka was essentially a girl coming of age story (and it is monstrous and depressing because, well, the reality of being an adolescent girl can be pretty monstrous and depressing, don’t tell me that a plot that hinges on

Thank you

The game is incredibly complex - the depth is what’s kept me playing for over a decade. It hurts it as a spectator sport, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

I don’t know if it’s related, but some of the DeVos types who are all about charter schools have tried to turn HBCUs into an example of successful school choice. ‘See, schools were segregated and they just went and made their own schools that was more suitable for their needs’

Like, to further add, if I were more paranoid, I’d suspect he’s someone employed by Kotaku to just start moronic arguments. But that would be really silly.

This guy is consistently spitting out like 8 paragraphs to justify some of the most lunatic stuff on not just this article, but... lots of them. There is something seriously weird in his processing.
