How do they have anyone willing to put the sort of effort into this sort of thing? This sounds really weird. Every school ID I ever had was 'picture taken against the wall' -> 'card punched out a second later.'

I didn't assume you were a teen, I said you had the social awareness/grasp of a teen. And yeah, I feel comfortable assuming you're male but if it suits you to say otherwise, that's fine.
Nah, when people are super upset about vague 'arrogance' and 'lack of humility' it is generally a result of respectability politics. Suffering in silence is shit for academia. It lets people ignore science and research and critical thought. If someone doesn't want to take science a broader audience, that's fine. But…
Yeah, he's just too uppity, right??
You're putting in solid arguments but it is entirely wasted on the guy you're posting at. He's been posting on this site for years now with the basic ethos of 'I love anime boobies and poop jokes and the political correctness wants to take that away from me.' He has no understanding of the concepts you're trying to…
Dude, you write a lot of words to demonstrate that you have absolutely no understanding of media critique or satire in general. Everything you've written on this topic, and other topics I've seen you post on, makes it seem like you have the social awareness of a 14 year old boy. You post this stuff aggressively and…
Sleeping Dogs is probably a great example. The story is given weight, Wei is made a real character that you can care about. You can still have the blood drenched violence.
It's actually all an incredibly adept satire, Rockstar isn't failing to portray women or minority characters with any depth. They're satirizing popular media's failure to portray women or minority characters with any depth.
Franklin also had like, no explored feelings or ambitions or character development or personality at all.
There are a handful of DotA loading screens he's done, yeah. http://imgur.com/a/9o55J
This is a good point. Blizzard's folks working on HotS have used this as their reasoning when people kept asking them 'why don't you just make it all accessible like Dota'. Basically, the argument goes that DotA has the historic name and built in playerbase + the support of Steam, and that lets it get over the initial…
You kinda sound like a bitch.
Absolutely agree. The 'filler' that people got grumpy about in ATLA was great for actually allowing the characters to breathe. You get to see them doing other things, instead of rushing furiously towards a point of crisis at every given second.
I agree, it is pretty suspicious that two characters out of the main cast would be bi.
I thought Korra's character arc was pretty good. That's why the confrontation with Kuvira went down how it did.
Yeah, I didn't want to mention CSGO because I never actually played it and wasn't exactly sure how it all worked, but it seems like it is pretty successful too.
I could be really biased and just say 'Dota' but honestly, they're two different games that sort of resemble each other on the surface.
Yeah, I basically don't even bother thinking about playing games on my phone. It is unfortunate to have such a powerful device I carry with me everywhere, but it is honestly not worth the effort digging through the trash to find the one or two games that doesn't use transactions, and doesn't have unusable controls or…
I've played DotA in its incarnations for 7 years. No other game has come close to ever giving me the hours played DotA has. Not even MMOs. They could charge me $120 and it'd still be worth it.
That doesn't have to be the fate of MTX, though. DotA is a good example of how you can make microtransactions have zero effect on gameplay and zero content barriers, while still making microtransactions appealing. I think it is probably the best single example of MTX. (I'd offer up LoL as well, but Riot gates heroes…
