Why not? There was a flight sim in Excel '97. Putting Minecraft in the next Office would be a suitable update for the modern era.
I have my problems with the original L&O (there's a lot of plots and minority representation that smacks a bit grossly if you stop to think about them), but I still loved it.
What was the bullshit in Chapter 4? The complaints everyone seems to have don't show up until 5 or 6.
It was actually my frustration with the world being reset that that made me decide to ultimately break it. Ringabel comes to Tiz and Agnes and shares his suspicions and then Tiz and Agnes believe him, but don't do anything about it. I was like 'well, what can I do, is there a person I can go talk to?" and then the…
No, I totally agree on characterization being a huge part of the genre - I just sort of viewed it as like FF6, where you could have missed the scenes with Sabin and Gau's dad, or Cyan's dreams or even saving Shadow, and still beaten the game and got a lot out of it. The sidequests are great and wonderful parts of the…
That's true, (I did both, but I broke the crystal before I did the boss rush part), but I sort of view the 'kill all the bosses over and over' as bits of characterization and neat, but not essential to the plot, part of '100%'ing the game, not essential to beating the game the first time.
I don't know, pretty much everything you lose is bits of characterization - not necessary for the actual plot. So I viewed that stuff as part of '100%ing it' not 'necessary for beating it', but that may be because I beat it by breaking the crystal first.
Absolutely - and I beat it both ways (though I shattered the crystal the first time then went back and played it 'normally'). I'm just pointing out that it is entirely possible to skip the boss rush portion, and the game even encourages it. They really beat you over the head with 'think for yourself' 'find a…
I pointed this out in some other posts, but you can directly skip almost the entire second half of the game if you paid attention to the story and went off script.
I thought the story was pretty good, but yeah, the dungeon design needs a lot of work. There were flashes of potential with the desert cave dungeon (where you fight the thief) having those traps, and they could do with some more puzzles, but most dungeons were just hallways.
You can skip the entire second half of the game if you paid attention.
You don't have to fight all the bosses over and over five chapters. If you do that, it is entirely your fault for not paying attention.

Again, this is entirely your own fault.

The 'canon' Revan is a Dark Side man, and the 'canon' Exile (KotOR2) is a Light Side woman.
Whatever, fuck Bioware for this. Bioware's best story beat they did was the Revan reveal and everything else was standard Star Wars cargo cult. Obsidian did amazing and interesting things - KotOR2 was one of the most innovative and interesting pieces of storytelling Star Wars has ever had, in any medium.
This was my experience too. Borderlands 1 as a bit different and refreshing and I found the Siren fun to play with the ghost walk/melee tricks.
