Because I beat that video to death like a year ago, and it is tedious to refute it again.

Valid question, and here's the answer: In a lot of WC3 custom maps there ARE secret shops - places where you could get hidden items, and originally in DotA, the entire map was black until someone on your team explored it. So originally, they WERE secret shops! There you go.
They have a lot of LoL people actually, nobody plays DotA when I last asked though. Was a bit excited to see this.
Well, it is definitely a time sink, but it is ACTUALLY free to play and nothing in the gameplay takes money, and nothing you can spend money on effects the game, it is entirely cosmetic.
Why is "game" in scare quotes?
You don't even need to sign up, you just need to go into your Dota 2 settings and check the box that 'allow public stats' or whatever (I forgot what the actual option is), and dotabuff automatically records stats for everyone that allows it.
People post this video all the time and I really wish they wouldn't. So many of the points don't hold up and/or he doesn't support them, but since he sort of talks at them and belabors them, people seem to think 'hmm, yes, he has a good point.'
Dota is the longest lasting commitment I've ever had in my life. College was only 4 years. I've only been at my current job for 5 years. I've never dated anyone for longer than a year and a half.
lol, directors.
He did some interesting things but yeah, the guy is pretty much insufferable and nowhere near as good at his craft as he thinks he is.
You must play on like Beginner and even then, never played any of the later levels.
And Starcraft is a game of clicking your mouse button.
I tried to play the DS version and just... I couldn't get past the start, it was really unfun for me.
Also, Lufia 1 might not be able to stand up to Lufia 2, but the opening to Lufia 1 (the slow panning over Doom Island as the prologue is narrated on screen) and then the cut to inside the shrine on Doom Island is amazing, and the music is epic. It adds so much to Lufia 2 when you reach that point in the game and…
What do you think of the dialogue?
What's up with Maxim and Selan taking a yearlong break from their adventure to get married and have a kid? Weird pacing choice or ballsy, innovative move?
It had some nagging issues with the battle system (I don't care if people think it is tactical, having your party members attack air because you overestimated the enemy's HP is not a fun mechanic), and the puzzles weren't quite there. I think the music was more polished and better in Lufia 2, and the ending was much…
From hero selection alone, dota has 1,764,707,365,859,256 possible drafts. Or about 2 quadrillion.
There are 1,764,707,400,000,000 different hero combinations in Dota 2 at the moment. Or about 2 quadrillion. And that's just 'picking heroes.' The decision making is so diverse and the range of possible actions is so large. Any game you've seen is going to be unlike any game you've seen before.
KOTOR2 and New Vegas are better versions than the predecessors though?
