Native speaking aside, if you aren’t a cyclist (and not just the credit-card variety who walk into a Specialized store and say ‘set me up’) you probably have never heard the term at all.

Came here to say this.  Take a star.  Averages are the most commonly used, yet drastically misunderstood, figures in a lot of areas.

Yup. It’s a thing. Not dropped in casual conversation like, “Hey, want to grab a six pack and go down to the LBS?”, but definitely used when talking about shops vs box stores.

The timeliness is that they exploded off store shelves over the last 2 years and are now coming into LBS’s broken and in disrepair.  See it now at my LBS all the time.  Same issue just a massive wave right now....

You can also find local cycling groups on Facebook (look for ones that are “social” oriented) and join. A lot of cyclists (myself included) will have unused bikes around that they’d be happy to find a good home for on the cheap.  So aside from asking around at your LBS, try that.  Someone will chime in and say they…

Glad you pointed out the downstroke issue.....it had never crossed my mind. And as a northerner, that is an important oversight. So too with those that pointed out this design will be shitty on intermittent in the rain.

I’m subjectively considering that segment to be 3 cars, as I don’t really view any of the pony cars along side other sedans or 2 door imports.  The thought of someone debating whether to get an M4 or a Hellcat just makes me laugh....

That gets to be messy territory when dealing with brands under a larger conglomerate. I specifically looked at Dodge’s numbers for the same reason I didn’t factor in Genesis or Kia.

Counterpoint: Hyundai sold more than triple what Dodge sold in the US alone in 2021.
