She has a lack of common sense, not intelligence. She was raised believing in fairytale endings and honor, etc., then, with no warning, forced into a violent, soul-crushing life in which everything she knew was gone. Of course she doesn't know how to survive in the world she's in now, but she learned how to deal with

Her Septa used to quiz her on house words. If she doesn't pick up on it, it's because she's been shellshocked since the death of her father and everything that happens to her afterwards, not because she's not "bright enough".

It's April 1st, right?

There are two groups of Zelda games: the first two games and the rest of them…not including the CD-i games. The second category has some excellent games but are more puzzle oriented. The first two are about dying and getting better. I love the Adventures of Link for the same reason I love the Souls games.

I've always liked Double Dash on GameCube, actually. The Wii version was crap, though.

Since you spend so much time dying and replaying every area of the game, subsequent playthroughs of Dark Souls take a fraction of the time. I think in order to Plat, you need to beat NG+ and get to Anor Londo in NG++, which is not easily done, but I wouldn't let the length be a deterent. You won't be playing another

I've been noticing it's sort of a spiritual predecessor to Demon's/Dark Souls. Not nearly as refined and fair, but I still think it works.

Oh! I forgot that I will also be finally finishing my first campaign in Descent: 2nd Edition! We started playing a couple months ago over a weekend and got to the interlude. A few weeks ago we continued on one late night - up til 4am. And tomorrow we have the final two quests. It's been messy at times when we realize

Whenever I turn on my NES, it's for Zelda 2: The Adventures of Link, a game that I've reached the penultimate boss several times but never managed to beat. It's on my bucket list, though, and may ultimately be the reason I consider my life a failure.

I'm with you. A new entry in a series can't diminish your initial enjoyment. I tried this argument with a few friends who were upset about the upcoming Star Wars sequels, but they didn't bite. In addition, and more specific to video games, I would have said that Demon's Souls and Portal didn't need sequels, and look

And I admit I'm coming from a more Elder Scrolls background than MMO. I've played both Guild Wars, and am currently loving FFXIV, but that's it as far as MMOs go, including WoW. I was hoping to find, in ESO, a game that blended elements from a series I loved into an intriguing multiplayer environment. Instead, they

I took part in a few of the Elder Scrolls Online betas, and at first I was planning on purchasing it. The last two betas, though, I didn't even play. Part of that was because FFXIV and Dark Souls II. But even without those games, I lost interest. It's pretty, and the acting is far and away the best I've seen in an

Except for one long day, I never played XI, so I don't have that to compare it to. The only MMOs I have spent any real time with are Guild Wars 1 and 2, which I played for a few months each and then put them down. I like them enough, but FFXIV is much deeper. We'll see how far it goes. I did just set up a subscription

I'd say the game looks like it opens up after twenty hours, but it doesn't actually open up until after you beat it. This is isn't hate. I loved the game, but the linearity of it turned me off at times. The battle system was good enough, though, that I kept going. And the endgame stuff is really great.

I don't really know how it works, but the "soul memory" system for invading seems to fix the problem of being invaded by people with overpowered weapons. A welcome addition really. Puts PvP on a more even playing field. You can still get your ass kicked sometimes, but mostly fairly.

I'm assuming you're talking about being summoned as a gray spirit, which means you go to some else's world to fight them. Yeah, it can happen a lot, but if you lose, there's almost no penalty since you don't die in your own world. If you mean gray spirits are coming into your world, take off that Rat Covenant Ring and

I "beat" Dark Souls 2 yesterday, though that doesn't mean I'll stop playing it. While Dark Souls is a better single-player game, Dark Souls 2 beats it out on multiplayer in every way. Can't wait to invade some poor souls. Maybe I'll give the optional bosses a stab, too.
Now that I did beat it, though, I can return to Fi

Largely agree here, except about Carl. While I think this half of a season has a few of the best episodes the show has done, it has also underlined how much trouble it has writing for children. Carl is still annoying, maybe not as annoying as he was in the first couple seasons, but I still roll my eyes when he

It's weird to me that you mention the camoflauge system as a boon, as it's something I was annoyed by whenever I had to think about it in game. It actually made MGS3, and I know this is an unpopular opinion, the one numbered MGS game I couldn't play through.
I'd love to pick this one up on my PS4, but I'm not sure I'll

Glad I did a search for "McNulty" before I posted the same thing.
