I’m sorry— your story sounds exactly like mine, but it’s written much better. ;) Disability at a young age is something I never realized could “just happen” to someone, except in cases of illness or a devastating accident. I’m sorry you’re going through this, and I hope you are doing ok with the emotional stuff that

Also, somehow networked office printers have not gotten ANY better in the last 20 years.

Social democracy, as juxtaposed to the post-80s unfettered capitalist neoliberalism of the US currently.

I’m glad they pointed out the part about the guys having to trudge through a draining ditch to get anywhere to eat. The absolute last things those suburban office complexes are designed for is pedestrian traffic, as anyone who has ever been near one can attest

He lived in a cookie cutter pop-up apartment complex, with people who could afford to live there working demolition.  I mean he wasn’t starving, but his Fridays were still mostly drinking beer at home with his colleagues.

Something Office Space and King of the Hill have that none of their successors share is a real sense of suburban America. As good as The Office (USA) or anything else cited in the article are, they still feel like shows made in California and written by people who went to ivy league schools. Judge really knows how to

Seriously, there’s nothing “caviar” about his lifestyle. It’s the typical small-to-mid-sized-city/suburban crappy corporate job existence. It’s crappy chain restaurant problems. He’d probably be making maybe $40-50k today.

Misery you can taste! TM

When I eat Dominos, I find it reassuring that the cow was as miserable as I am

I wash my body with them. Wet cloth, apply soap, lather, wash, rinse body, rinse cloth, wring out and hang up to dry.

Should I be worried that you don’t mention wash cloths at all? Because you need a clean wash cloth every day. Screw those pretty matching wash cloths and go to Costco and buy the giant pack of 24 white wash cloths. Use a clean one every day and stop rubbing the damn soap all over your body. Nobody wants to touch that.

The Daily Mail ran a big story today on Malia’s alleged “secret” Facebook account full of “anti-Trump messages,”

Bath sheets are awesome...if they were striped and brightly colored you would call it a beach towel.  IKEA sells some nice and cheap ones.  Much more drying power with a bigger towel.

God forbid people who are bigger than a size 2 get to have a comfortable towelling experience, am I right?????

Imagine being so bourgeois that you own a bath sheet

All I need is for folks in general to stop claiming the outcome of this case will determine whether or not people will be able to believe what Black Queer folks tell them more often. If they literally need one instance of a person even possibly falsifying a story about a hate crime to determine whether or not they can

But here’s the thing — those schools are KEPT bad by people moving out to the suburbs. Studies have shown that schools where about 2/3 of the kids are middle/upper-middle class and 1/3 of the kids are poor/working class do not negatively impact the outcomes for the middle class kids and POSITIVELY impact the outcomes

Also from the southeast and this is the exact reason why the schools are less desirable. The schools only get better if you stay and get involved.

It’s a self fulfilling prophecy. All the parents who are willing to move because of schools move to the same communities. These parents vote for higher budgets, are more involved in the PTA, coach little league teams, participate in bake sales and force their kids to do homework. This makes those schools better,

I’m not a parent, but I’ve never really understood this reason. I get that these “low quality” schools tend to have lower test scores, graduation rates, etc., but isn’t that most likely the result of the majority of the students being lower income and not receiving the home support and early education opportunities
