The super slim is definitely far cheaper to make. No slot loader, its lighter (important when shipping out of China) and otherwise in general its just made out of cheaper shit.

It's not exactly rocket science to make a drive work with the 360, I have done it multiple times, also with the slim you can just slide it right in since it is just a SATA connector in there, I usually just stuff some other crap in as well to keep it from banging around.
