KidstonTV did a short documentary on this era of Bugatti and the factory about 4 years ago. Worth a watch if you are interested.

There’s more than one South Coast Raceway on the planet, weirdly. That one is in Australia. You can confirm it by checking the facebook account of the originator of the video. Or just with some basic googling.

The regulatory body here is called ANDRA. Whether this is one of their events I’ve no idea.

even a mint one is comparitively cheap. They haven’t been hit by Takumi tax like the AE86. I vaguely recall a showroom condition (double digit mileage) selling for around 16kUSD a few years back.

I miss entry level cars that were just that, entry level. growing up in the late 80's early 90's as a kid, the cars my mum had were hand me down base models. They didn’t have the optional passenger exterior mirror (yes, to some of the younger people, the passenger external rear view mirror used to be an OPTION), Air

Stolen from the YT comments but I feel it sums the script quality up fairly well -

You’re wrong about the ECU. Just run an IAT sensor and don’t worry about MAP/MAF. Here’s a write up for the car back in 2015. He’s using 4AG Blacktop ITB’s, modified to suit application.

RB26DETT in the GTR’s actually has ITB’s, but obviously, not one turbo per cylinder. There was a mock up 4G63 photo getting around years ago, but AFAIK it was just a mockup, never seen footage of it running or in any real world application.

Glad someone posted the AW11 dash. The Corolla dash was almost identical, albeit with the auxillary gauges repositioned. My only complaint is that the Oil pressure gauge is an average, and very slow to respond. Put an aftermarket gauge with audible warning on mine for piece of mind.

Watch from 9m15s onward for the 2nd lap, with external footage. I know you’ve seen this before, but if you want to talk about balls out Rear engine laps, I’m yet to see better.

Terrifying crash and amazed there wasn’t a fatality. Hopefully all involved recover well.

I believe he had a 4AGE from one of his D1 cars in a KE72 Wagon for street duty too. There is still video here at the Sift Garage website and photos about the place too.

there weren’t too many 4 cylinder engines producing anywhere near that power back in the early 80's. The madness of Group B and Turbo 4 cyl F1 were still a few years away, so yes, 600hp, from a 1.75L turbo 4 banger in 1981 was impressive. Please feel free to enlighten us on what other 4 pots were at that power level

depends where it’s blowing air into. You can end up with the positive pressure from the scoop competing with the air coming thru the radiator/coolers. If you want better cooling, consider Bonnet/Hood vents instead, that let hot air escape from the top of the engine bay - some notable factory examples

It has aftermarket wheels on the dyno? This almost feels like someone trying to inflate the price of their car and get free advertising to sell it. It’s in good condition sure, but he contacted you because? Feels off.

such a clever comment...I’m not sure if you mean a traction Halo, a halo as an angel if they die or both....bravo!

I like the cut of your jib

don’t buy an a70 to drift. They are too heavy and will be too hard on suspension/tyres. They are a fantastic GT or drag car tho. Run a 350z trans behind a jz engine (as v161 and r154 are too expensive now) and enjoy. Get the factory widebody...
