This is really interesting. Exiting systems (GPS, GLONASS, and Galileo, until now) use geosynchronous satellites. This makes sense, as the satellites appear fixed in the sky from the ground. Very useful for navigation markers to be stationary!

If you have been in a hospital, you have been treated by one. Most nurses work three 12s a week and much prefer it. More days off or they can pick up a 4th day occasionally, get OT, and still have 3 days off.

“Can be done” is not the same as “reasonable” or “humane”. Also, I’m not sure I want to be treated by a healthcare worker in the tail end of a 3rd 12-hour day.

Yeah, that’s more reasonable. I think studies determined that for each hour over 8 hours you work, you start to lose productivity.

Right? Most places I know of (including my own workplace) do four 10-hour days in that situation.

So, I obviously don’t know if this is the reason to discontinue the McRib, but i do know that McD’s hasn’t completely met their goals with their suppliers for humane treatment of the hogs raised and slaughtered for their use, and perhaps the decision was made to minimize the amount of pork used: keeping it to bacon…
