Re: the prosecution. That's actually what I've been saying too. I don't know if the feds will turn up enough to bring charges against Zimmerman, but I'd bet with a bit of digging there is enough for someone to bring action against the state/county.

I feel somewhat obligated to post something on this article...

He was not literally found guilty of attempted murder. The defense's strategy was to present Martin as basically a thug who saw Zimmerman, jumped him, and started beating the hell out of him. And the jury bought it, thus OP's comment.

In the US it isn't uncommon for jurors on high profile cases to eventually go public, unless the judge orders them not to or something. It's pretty clearly problematic.

And to clarify, even that one kinda sorta if you squint reasonable part was COMPLETELY MISSING THE FUCKING POINT. (Post will not let me edit to add that).

That statement was crazy. Like, he starts off kind of reasonable (the whole over 10 years not that much money part) and then takes a hard right turn into fucking supremacist rhetoric. I was seriously making a O.O face after I read it.

"Animal welfare" and "animal rights" mean different things. Animal rights can encompass animal welfare, but generally also includes more extreme views (eating meat/any animal product is never okay, no animal use in medical testing at all, etc.). Animal welfare is more broad, but is focused primarily on treating

Actually, there aren't really long term economic benefits- my understanding is that hosting the Olympics actually a financial disaster for whatever city gets it.

Maybe they're auditioning for a dating sim?

Ughhh. I just got rid of a shirt because I haven't worn it since someone told me "congratulations!" while I was wearing it. I think it was a bit too small now (this happened a few years ago), but it ruined that shirt forever.

I will always promote that gif haha.

I was a Girl Scout, and I recall my mom needed to become my sisters' Brownie troop leader for a while. I helped her out, since I was in the older group at the time and couldn't find a troop to belong to. I definitely remember it being super hard to find volunteers.

I MUST KNOW WHERE THAT GIF CAME FROM. It is a thing of beauty.

Aww! Is she a pit-lab mix? I have that variety of mix and she looks very similar (floppy ears and all). Mine is a bit more lab-ish looking, though. She also breaks many unbreakable items.

It makes her head look like a pheasant and I approve. It actually might be my favorite of the bunch. Also, A+ hairstyling to go with it.

You misunderstand- her characterization is not well known, but Wonder Woman is iconic. She is a pervasive part of the culture, in part because of the show in the 70s. You'd be hard pressed to find anyone who didn't recognize an image of Wonder Woman. She has been around nearly as long as Batman and Superman, and is

For real. Add in to that that DC apparently has some weird lack of respect for their animation folks, even though the Timmverse and related properties are probably the most consistently profitable DC properties.

Actually Wonder Woman would be a good option simply because she is so well known. She is probably the single most well known property that has never gotten a movie. She's certainly better known by the general public than Thor or Green Lantern, and name recognition counts for a lot.

I really have no idea why they didn't go with one of the two Green Lanterns audience currently know about. Well, I suspect I know why they didn't pick John Stewart, because I am bitter and cynical.
