I cannot understand how testosterone suppression would even make for a non-perfect “fair” condition? This isn’t scientifically sound; and overlooks the many testosterone-independent biological differences between males and females (i.e. Growth hormone, somatomedin, blood epinephrine, ect.).

Sorry but I have to guess-ask: roller derby? I was a member of the community for a spell and I loved the sport and “inclusiveness” but that also came with no regulations on trans women (at least when I was with it). Especially in a contact sport, it has never sat well with me.

You’ve nailed the ridiculousness of having no dividing line, and the danger to women’s sports. If you’re going to have women’s sports, you need to create a dividing line (which is, admittedly, arbitrary since there’s no neat line biologically) and defend it. The beauty of the testosterone limit is that it rightly did

if you just love to run...the good news is that you can do that without a race at all...to say it isn’t about winning and losing is totally disingenuous.

To give another example: I was a middling male cross country runner at a small school. My greatest individual accomplishment was missing out on the medals at our conference meet by a single spot. I just looked up last year’s state championship times, and my personal best would have won the large-school girls’ division

If this is truly how you feel, then what’s the point of having males and females compete separately?

Edgy take, brah

Agreed completely. Benny is so far ahead of the pack here.

The Phanatic is so much more than the look! He’s the full package!

Benny the Bull is #1.

A thing I learned while compiling this: The San Diego Chicken is not and has never been the Padres’ mascot.

When they help each other in the bakes, I often well up in tears.

If “I’m offended” is now the standard to have art removed from public, God help us.

The story is not about American Indians—it’s about America. There’s an important distinction there. And the interesting thing about stories is that they can be told from many different perspectives. There are two main parties in this story—those who were hanged and those who performed the hanging. The story being told

I went to a seminar on the piece at the Walker pre-installation. As far as I am aware, it was not advertised as a play ground. It was advertised as interactive. There’s a big difference.
However, I do think that the public thinks of it as a playground. I think the director of the museum thinks, “this is a serious

Its a very slippery slope when art can be criticized not for its intent, but for what feelings and opinions it elicits from its audience. And this doesn’t just apply to static sculpture, this applies to all forms of art; music, film, etc.

There’s certainly nothing wrong with disagreeing with a piece of art, and I definitely see their point. But removing art because some people disagree with it is... worrisome to me.
