There’s an old legal saw that if the facts are on your side, but the law is not, you emphasize the facts. And if the law is on your side, but the facts are not, you emphasize the law.

That seems to be the case here. When I first started running, I didn’t use any trackers or apps so I had no real sense of the distances I covered. There were so many times where I thought that I had run 4 to 5 miles but subsequently discovered that I barely covered 3 miles.

For a normal hire, it’s probably not desirable to do that sort of digging. For someone who is going to be your social media presence, I think knowing what their public social media looks like is pretty highly relevant.
