Absolutely.
Absolutely.
If I had won the lottery last night, I would absolutely buy one of these for our basement home theater. (Of course, we'd also be building a house with a much BETTER home theater eventually, too.) We have completely stopped going to first run movies because the actual movie watching experience is so much better at home.
I see your "Flowers for Algernon" and raise you Elizabeth Moon's "The Speed of Dark." (I have read this book 3 times and cried every single time.)
When I started doing Crossfit, I had already seen how some of my friends had started it, started talking about it almost exclusively on Facebook, and then gave it up a few months later. I decided I was just going to not talk about it much except with other people that I knew were still active (part of the "cult") or…
I like having a dock at work that I can drop my phone into to charge all day, AND listen to music. Otherwise it's cords all over the place and that's a pain in the ass.
Baby tiger belly starting around 2:20. OMG I'm dead. DEAD.
You should be able to turn that off. Go to your "Close Friends" feed (it's in my "Favorites" bar on the left), and in the upper right there are buttons for Manage List and Notifications. You can set the Notifications to "Off" there.
This clip was so confusing. I was trying to figure out why I never noticed before that the track sounded JUST LIKE "Sunshine" and then I went to the actual YouTube description and saw that it was indeed an intentional mash-up. It's not horrible but I think I'll keep my emotional soundtracks separate. Now I need to…
Or, for those of us who don't have Netflix streaming, Amazon Prime is pretty damn awesome and "worth it."
Wait, what? My RSS feeds on all the Gawker sites I follow are still definitely broken.
I often play a few games of Zuma Blitz or Bejeweled Blitz before bed and will often dream about them afterwards. I don't think I've ever dreamed about games like Rock Band, Mario Kart, Diablo or Fallout even though I may have spent large chunks of my time playing them (even right before bed.) I think it's the…
Yeah, depending how you have your Excel spreadsheet set up, you'll probably be able to just import them right into Goodreads. The "pages read" stat might be a little hidden if you're not familiar with the site though. You'll want to be sure you set a "Date Read" to make sure they all get put into the right year. …
This is so very cool but jesus, can't they stay with one camera angle for more than 2 seconds?
I like having the crowd to give me cues about which parts were the really hard moves.
Yeah, my FitBit Ultra actually has a harder time with my Crossfit classes, since we do so much lifting that's not a lot of "steps" but is certainly burning plenty of calories. I'll usually manually add a "weightlifting" activity when I get home.
Could you really not manually input your sleep times, or had you just not found the place to do so on the dashboard? I agree that the data viewer/dashboard is a mess so I can understand but you should still be able to go to Log Activity > Sleep and from there edit a sleep activity or add a new one.
Sorry, I know this article is almost 2 weeks old, but I'm catching up from my vacation last week. I have decided that next year I will commit to a page count goal instead of a # of books goal. That way you can read what you want instead of feeling like you're cheating when you read a really short book/novella (I have…
My hubby has been going to Crossfit for 3+ months, and I've just started going with him in the last couple weeks. I'm slow and big and always the last to finish the workouts, but holy hell I'm actually ENJOYING working out for the first time ever. I had really underestimated how much getting into the right environment…
"Anorgasmia" has to be the saddest word I've read all week.
It just needs a rinse, but gotta be careful cause it's developing a rip in the edge on top there. With my luck I'd put it in my eye and it would fall out in 2 pieces later in the day. (Ow.)
