“It’s all too easy to just buy the ebook.”

No. No, actually, it isn’t. Nice try though.

...I thought we were making nacho jokes?

My Gus cat is a feminist. I can tell by the adoring way he looks at me. Just heart eyes all the time.

I could run a decathlon. The events would have to involve eating cinnamon rolls and such, but I could do it.

I feel like clarifying that it was the MOTHER as opposed to a STRANGER who killed the children takes it to a new level of awful and is absolutely pertinent to the story.

I’ve never understood why people get so pedantic and smug about these kinds of small errors in internet comments.

Or get your publishing company to take out a damn ad.

I understand what you are saying, but I also understand what she is saying.

There was no mention of that in Bobby’s piece so I had no idea. I will enjoy the upcoming 50 replies letting me know *sigh*

Westerners have also made a lot of mistakes in their charity work for developing countries because of ignorance. Off the top of my head I can think of the clothing donation which decimated their local textile economy, or Christians suppressing access to condoms and sex education because it doesn’t jive with their

It’s pretty insulting that she or someone on her team did not get the name of a village chief, but posted a picture. If you don’t know the person’s name, maybe don’t post it. Also wtf you cannot just randomly post pictures of other people’s kids! I know someone who posts pics of children she works with, and I don’t

I think most people find her photos with the kids to be the most squicky.

My big problem is that she didn’t bother to name anyone. I mean, the kids obviously often want to take pictures and its better not to put their names out there. But she didn’t have to post pics with kids. And the “female chief” who is so inspirational has a name you know?

I know exactly what you mean. I will say my SIL is a pediatrician and she volunteers with an established medical group in Haiti every year for two weeks. She never has her own pictures b/c she’s working her ass off but the group has a photographer who documents everything to help with outside funding so I get to see

My eye surgeon goes to Africa one month every year to do free cataract operations on locals. I think that’s seriously great.

It’s so great to be in England! Let’s go to a local school and surround ourselves with kids for a selfie so everyone can see how adorable the natives are! Isn’t it weird that they laugh too!? #universallanguage
