I drove myself to my first drivers license test when I was 16 in a 1972 Suburban that we called Bertha. The instructor had it out for me- he failed me on a minor technicality and told me to come back in a month. I shrugged, got back into Bertha, and drove home.

It’s a great book but it is out there and I don’t think it’s the best introduction to the Culture

Of all the Culture books, I think Use of Weapons is maybe the most impossible to film.

I would kill to see any of the Culture books brought to the big screen, and Player of Games is probably a great start. Other books like Excession and The Hydrogen Sonata are probably doable too, but I can’t imagine Use of Weapons being filmable. 

Do you feel that the car is hamstrung by the 255hp turbo 4? That seems light on power for an E-class.

I got my 2018 Audi A6 with 16k miles on it in the middle of 2021 for WAY less than she paid for this Camry. Not saying she needs a German money pit, but she definitely didn’t need a $46k Camry. 

I’m over 40, make good money, and have bought one (1) new car in my life, a GTI in 2018 that I got for $21k out the door with 0% interest. (I later sold that car to Carvana for more than I paid for it during the pandemic)

Why doesn’t she just take Uber to work or walk like Kevin O’Leary?
