I found this piece really heartbreaking, too.

“Players only love you when they’re playing.”

Also was on the first season of Law & Order: SVU!

Your statement demonstrates a clear misunderstanding of the use and construct of “safe spaces” and then goes on to give the very reason why they exist (hint: to give people space to process their experiences with trained and/or like-minded and/or like-experienced individuals who can facilitate that processing).

Wow love how quickly people read this frank discussion of how the economics of Hollywood disenfranchise women, and went; “Fuck her she said a mean thing about Faye Dunaway.”

Plus the clothes are criminally hideous.

The song is dumb and the lyrics are bad, but typically if you have to resort to “if a man did it/if a white person said it/etc.” it’s not a great argument.

I understand what you’re saying, but I think that pop music cannot be scrutinized in the same way actual real life behavior can be.

My God, you have to GOT to lighten up a bit.

I thought it was more about being awkward af around people you find attractive (can’t make eye contact, try to play cool by pretending you think they do X stupidly, etc.) It’s immature, for sure, but I wouldn’t really classify it as negging.

I thiiink it’s parodying that kind of talk? Like it’s so over to top with its negging or hostily flirtatious lyrics that it reads like she’s satirizing what people say about women/her. But then sometimes it switches to actually her talking, like with the bit about the cats. Hm.

my gay perspective: not once was it mentioned this person is a male, and all the lyrics could easily apply to a woman.

This supports my theory that Taylor’s initial singles are always really bad, when the rest of the album is okay. “I knew you were trouble” and “shake it off,” were awful, overproduced whining messes but the rest of 1989 and Red are good.

Contributory negligence is a real legal doctrine. It means that if a plaintiff acted negligently himself, he can be assessed liability. It’s usually used to reduce damages in personal injury cases - if you have a car accident and you sue the other driver, but you weren’t wearing your seatbelt. If you lost a limb at

She’s not defending him, she’s running PR. Everyone has a right to a defense, not positive press.

Yes please. Have you seen the questions they ask you when you go and donate? Some of them are so obsolete they don’t make sense. They should focus on rethinking their way so more healthy people can donate. That way they can give me a break (6 emails and 2 phone calls in less than a week 😑)

First off, this is great, and I hope it at least helps things progress in that direction.

You... You know, Howard’s not here... right?
