holy crap, this is so much my same experience with these books!! luckily i didn’t grow up in any kind of bonkers, conservative area, but these books did a lot to fill in some blanks. i re-read clan of the cave bear a few years ago and i still found it an enjoyable read.

i loved this! i was so sad when steve irwin died. my daughter grew up watching crocodile hunter and i literally cried when he passed. it’s so neat to see his son having the same enthusiasm for animals. this gave me a lot of feels.
